The LIV Golf v/s PGA Tour civil war might be old news, but the drama never gets old in the golfing world. New controversies and jibes are always cropping up every now and then.

In the most recent development, several PGA Tour players, including Branden Steele, Mito Pereira, Danny Lee, Sebastian Munoz, Thomas Pieters and Dean Burmester, have defected to the controversial LIV Golf series.

Interestingly, Branden Steele told reporters just 10 weeks ago that he was not interested in joining the Saudi-backed league, according to the Palm Springs Desert Sun. Apparently, he was not offered to join the controversial series at that point in time.

While fans got over this news, they got another one just recently. LIV Golf insider responded to a post on social media that mocked the newest additions to the roster.

There were reports from the CEO and Commissioner of the league, Greg Norman, claiming that the league was targeting seven top-20 players to join LIV Golf. Somebody on social media picked up this headline and compared it to the new additions.

LIV Golf Insider replied to that post listing the achievements of the series roster. The league's defense of the joke has attracted several opinions ranging from support to criticism.

So, here's taking a look at how fans reacted to the league's post:

What did fans have to say about LIV Golf Insider's defence?

Several critical views were dropped in the comment section of the post. One fan asked which team Jon Rahm was in. The current World No. 1 is undoubtedly one of the most consistent players on the PGA Tour and has had a phenomenal start to his 2023 season.

Another added that while Mito Pereira was a great addition to the league, it was not right to hype up the college tournament achievements of other players.

One fan noted that the new seven additions had no contribution to the achievements listed by the LIV Golf insider. The fan believed that the PGA Tour roster was better than that of the Saudi-backed league.

Well, it seems like a social media debate is at the onset.
