#2 IMPACT Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo vs. Mickie James (IMPACT Wrestling Bound For Glory)

With Bound For Glory 2021 three months away, Deonna Purrazzo has been dominant as IMPACT Knockouts Champion. She has put down a who's who of challengers. Taya Valkyrie, Su Yung, Rosemary and Havok have all lost to The Virtousa, while Jazz was retired by Purrazzo earlier this year. At the 2021 Slammiversary, Thunder Rosa became her latest victim.

After Deonna's win at the pay-per-view, former WWE Women's Champion Mickie James made her return to IMPACT Wrestling. The decorated legend wanted to invite Purrazzo to perform at the upcoming NWA Empowerrr event in August, but the current Knockouts Champion didn't want to hear any of it after feeling James stole her thunder.

If IMPACT Wrestling wants to make Bound For Glory a huge interpromotional show, they would be hard-pressed to find a better challenger for Deonna Purrazzo than Mickie James. She is a former three-time Knockouts Champion herself. James is a legend in the business and would make for a formidable challenger for The Virtousa.

If Mickie James doesn't want to compete at NWA Empowerrr and focus on being a producer for the event, it would present IMPACT Wrestling with a terrific opportunity to make the Mickie vs. Deonna dream match there. The animosity that was introduced at Slammiversary could be the start of a buildup to an outstanding Knockouts Championship Match at Bound For Glory.
