W. Morrissey vs Eddie Edwards at IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary

W. Morrissey tried to intimidate the heart and soul of IMPACT Wrestling but failed. Eddie Edwards was scared of no man, and he hammered the big man with a series of chops. Morrissey responded with a fallaway slam.

They moved to the floor, where Edwards managed to get the upper hand. He blocked a big boot from the giant and sent Morrissey's leg into the ring post. Morrissey's brute strength cut that lead short, though, as he manhandled the former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion, even on one leg.

A nasty elevated heart stomp left Eddie gasping as the crowd went quiet. Somehow, Edwards sent Morrissey over with a counter suplex and began to fire up. A series of knife-edge chops pelted Morrissey, and he was sent to the floor.

Morrissey countered a suicide dive, though, chokeslamming Edwards spine first on the apron. Morrissey didn't want to end it there, though, and Edwards managed to drop him on the ramp. After that, a Boston Knee Party laid out the IMPACT Wrestling newcomer.

Both men got in the ring before the ten count. Morrissey sent Edwards around the ring with the F-5 and slowly stalked his opponent. Edwards countered a superplex with a sunset bomb and followed a Blue Thunder Bomb for an incredibly close two-count.

Morrissey used the ref to stop the Boston Knee Party and rocked the IMPACT Wrestling veteran with a big boot. Somehow, Edwards kicked out. Morrissey ate a Boston Knee Party but fell to the floor.

Edwards was clocked with a studded belt while the ref was distracted, and W. Morrissey followed with a monstrous powerbomb for the win.

Results: W. Morrissey defeated Eddie Edwards via pinfall at IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary.

Grade: A-

After the match, we saw a vignette of someone debuting for IMPACT Wrestling very soon. While we didn't get a name, a painted sign read "Long live the Drama King."
