What's the story?
A big surprise is in store for all the football fans in the country! FC Barcelona legends - a team comprising of yesteryear superstars of the Catalan club are set to take on Juventus legends at the Andheri Football Arena in Mumbai on February 17.
This is going to be the first visit from these clubs to the country with the Juventus side set to arrive in Mumbai on February 14.
In case you didn't know...
Barcelona legends are coached by Albert Ferrer and the clash against Juventus is the team's fourth ever match. The Spanish side has played against the Mozambique legends, Manchester United and Hristo Stoichkov and friends. Their record reads - one win, one draw, one loss.
Meanwhile, Juventus legends are captained by none other than David Trezeguet who is set to return to India after his stint in the Indian Super League with FC Pune City.
The heart of the matter
The legends project has been started by almost all of the top football clubs in the world to honour their former players and to globalize the club's name in uncharted territories. The match in India is a first of this sort and is expected to garner a lot of interest.
The likes of Patrick Kluivert, Edgar Davids, Luis Garcia and Eric Abidal are expected to be included in the Barcelona legends squad that will travel to India.
