The 30-year-old has represented Salgaocar FC, Mumbai City FC, Aizawl FC, Delhi Dynamos FC, Odisha FC, Churchill Brothers FC, Kerala Blasters FC and Sreenidi Deccan in his career so far.

Albino has already played under Khalid Jamil during his stint with Aizawl FC and was a part of their 2016-17 I-League title-winning squad. In the 2023-24 I-League season, the Goa-based custodian featured in 18 matches for Sreenidi Deccan in which he produced seven clean sheets.

Given his ISL experience and proven goal-keeping credentials, Albino Gomes' arrival would be a major boost for the Red Miners ahead of the upcoming season. It will be the first full-fledged season for Jamshedpur FC under Khalid Jamil, who replaced Scott Cooper mid-season during the 2023-24 ISL where the team finished eleventh among twelve teams.

Expressing his thoughts about the new adventure and the prospect of playing under tactician Khalid Jamil yet again, an excited Alino Gomes stated that he wants to pay back his trust with hard work and good performances. He said:

"I'm thrilled to be back in the ISL with Jamshedpur FC, a club steeped in history and passion. The energy of the fans here is electric and I'm proud to be a part of this team. I feel fortunate to play under the guidance of Coach Khalid Jamil, and I'm confident to pay his trust back with hard work and performances."

Admitting that he had some tough times due to injuries, Albino asserted that he wants to establish himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the country during his time at Jamshedpur. He added:

"I had a tough few seasons due to injury but worked hard to get back in the I-league over the past two seasons. Now my goal is to prove and establish myself as one of the top goalkeepers in India with Jamshedpur in ISL."

Jamshedpur FC head coach Khalid Jamil was equally excited about the prospect of reuniting with Albino Gomes. Opening about what makes him an asset to the team, the former Indian International heaped praise on the club's new recruit. He stated:

"I've had the pleasure of working with him before and I know his capabilities and what he can bring to the table. He understands my expectations and I'm confident he'll excel in his role. Acquiring Albino Gomes is a significant boost. His wealth of experience in both ISL and I-League, combined with his physicality and ability to integrate makes him an asset."

Jamshedpur FC are placed alongside Chennaiyin FC, Indian Army FT and Bangladesh Army FT in Group D at the 2024 Durand Cup which is set to kick off the new season on July 27 in Kolkata.
