Sydney Sixers win by 17 runs

The start to the run-chase was brisk from the Adelaide Strikers. Deandra Dottin ignited the run-chase with three towering sixes and was looking to get things done all by herself. She was looking in ominous form, but then, the Sixers turned to their specialist partnership-breaker, Sophie Ecclestone, who went on and did her job. Laura Wolvaardt and Katie Mack did have quite a good partnership, they put on 44 for the second wicket, but the feeling of the Sixers slowly starting to get a hold in the game was there all along. The boundaries started to dry up, ones and twos and the occasional three were the modes by which the runs kept coming, and when Wolvaardt took an ill-advised single having hit one straight to Ecclestone's left hand at mid-wicket, the alarm bells started ringing for the Strikers.

Wickets started falling in a heap as the Strikers middle-order collapsed trying to meet the required run rate. Katie Mack started to get going but was soon caught by Perry off Brown. Unlike the Strikers, the Sixers rotated their bowlers to the best effect and kept picking up wickets at regular intervals. The required rate kept soaring over after over towards the latter stages of the run-chase, the batters kept holing out, and in the end, Madeline Penna's efforts were nearly not enough, with the Sixers sealing a convincing 17-run victory.
