Commentary

Well, well! What a finish to this game! All coming down to that extraordinary effort in the field that eventually sealed it for the Black Caps, not to take away credit from their bowlers who fought back after the Nicosia Fighters were cruising at one point. They put up fifty runs inside four overs for the opening stand, then losing their way and the game, which they will feel they should have finished.

Abdullah Al Tasmin and Kamrul Mahmud started really well and set the platform. However, once they lost the first wicket, they kept losing wickets regularly and simply failed to get one good partnership that could take them through. Some fine bowling at the backend for the Black Caps to pull this back the way they did.

Two wickets for Resham Singh and one each for skipper Rajwinder Brar and Waqas Akhtar as well. In the end, Black Caps beating the Fighters by five runs, completing a close and dramatic win, which also helps them complete the double over the Nicosia Fighters. What a comeback this has been from the Black Caps! They have pulled this off and the Nicosia Fighters have got to be frustrated to have thrown this away after cruising at one point in this chase.
