Coimbra Knights 50/5 (10 ov)
Gorkha 11 won by 58 runs.
Player of the match: Azher Andani
A 58-run for Gorkha as they emerge winners from the opening encounter of the Portugal leg! Could not have been a fitting way to get themselves started with a thoroughly dominating performance to defend that total comfortably and by a massive margin. You do not often see a side being kept down to that low a score in this format and what a stellar effort with the ball! Right from the very first over they kept things tight and once the wickets started to fall, there was no coming back whatsoever for the Knights.

It looked like it would not be a difficult task to chase this down from games that we have seen so far but none of the Knights batsmen could come even half as good as they would have liked them to in that run-chase. Three wickets for Siraj being the star of the show with the ball for Gorkha who have certainly pulled off something not a lot would have expected. They took control right from the top and never let lose at any stage.

So, a handsome win for Gorkha to start off with in what has been a brilliant comeback after that batting innings. A poor show from the Knights but they have another opportunity to redeem themselves right-away as these two sides will be locking horns one more time tonight in quick time. Can they bounce back or will Gorkha continue to dominate and make it a double in the very first day of this leg? Hang around to find out as the action only gets better moving ahead!
The Knights barely managing to get to fifty runs from their ten overs and this has been an excellent bowling performance from Gorkha! How often do you see a team being kept down to a mere fifty runs in this format! Massive win for Gorkha to kick start their campaign and this will come as a major boost!

9.5 Arslan Naseem to Parth Mukesh, length ball outside the off-stump, pushes hard at this one and gets beaten
9.4 Arslan Naseem to Parth Mukesh, FOUR! Short delivery from Naseem, he goes for the pull and gets the top edge. It beats the fielder in the deep and runs away to the boundary
9.3 Arslan Naseem to Tony Madeira, low full toss on middle and leg, whips it away off the pads to dep mid-wicket

9.1 Arslan Naseem to Parth Mukesh, full and straight on the leg-stump, tries to go across the line and gets hit on the toe
Another terrific over this, Absar Alam into the attack and this is really disciplined bowling. Not giving anything away and this has gone absolutely nowhere for the Knights. Nowhere near the target and they are off by a big margin! Disappointing effort!

8.1 Absar Alam to Parth Mukesh, sharp short delivery, he is way too late on the pull and gets it high on the bat, but the ball lands in noman's land
Fair enough to say we know which side is winning this opening clash from here. The Knights have way too much to get now and only some sort of miracle can get them past the line, that seems unlikely. Another successful over for Gorkha and they are are on their way to start off with a win!
