Commentary

Match drawn - Baroda pocket three points on first-innings lead, Delhi take one point.

Delhi were routed for 177 in their first innings and that was enough to hand Baroda a solid first-innings lead at the Palam Air Force Grounds. Bhargav Bhatt and Atit Sheth snared three wickets apiece and Baroda swiftly put Delhi in to bat again. The hosts then batted out 34 overs for 68 runs and lost one wicket before the captains decided to shake hands. This leaves Delhi with just 8 points and their qualification hopes are now in jeopardy. Baroda, on the other hand, extend their lead at the top of Group D with 23 points.

Stumps on Day 3 - Delhi 113/4, trail Baroda by 322 runs in the 1st innings.

Bad light robbed plenty of overs out of Day 3 but Baroda's innings finally ended on 435/9 as they decided to declare and unleash their fresh bowling attack. Jyotsnil Singh carried his bat to remain unbeaten on 234 before Atit Sheth landed two crucial blows as Delhi finished the day on 113/4. Ayush Badoni (37*) and Lakshay Thareja (0*) are the incumbent batters and it remains to be seen if Delhi go all out in attack to try and snatch a first-innings lead. Of course, it will come down to the number of overs we do get to see on the final day with Baroda hoping for enough time themselves to bowl Delhi out.

Stumps on Day 2 - Baroda 400/5 in the 1st innings.

Baroda continued to pile further misery on Delhi's bowlers as they took their first innings total to 400 by the end of the second day's play in Delhi. Jyotsnil Singh's marathon innings saw him finish the day unbeaten on 215 with Shashwat Rawat (72) and Shivalik Sharma (45) being the other chief contributors. A long battle awaits the hosts as they not only have to close things out with the ball but also rack off these runs and take the first innings lead at the very least.

Stumps on Day 1 - Baroda 202/1 in the 1st innings.

Only 64 overs were possible on Day 1 between Delhi and Baroda at the Palam Airforce Complex Ground in Delhi. The visitors bossed proceedings though to finish on 202/1 despite Ishant Sharma striking early. Jyotsnil Singh (124*) and Shashwat Rawat (71*) waltzed along to an unbeaten 199-run partnership and they will look to bat Delhi out of the contest before their bowlers get their teeth into the contest. Can Delhi, who are on the lookout for a second straight win, storm back with quick wickets tomorrow morning?
