Parthiv Patel: It was a bit of a nervy moment. I thought we bowled brilliantly and eventually Karim Janat finished it for us. We have to forget this time and come out all guns blazing in the next match. We have to stay in the present and look to get better with each game.
This has been a good win for the Cape Town Samp Army as they win this game by 4 wickets, take two points and now are the table toppers in the league. They look assured of securing a top-two finish and will play Qualifier 1.
The start to the chase wasn't as smooth as Cape Town Samp Army would've liked it. They lost a wicket in the first over and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Rahmanullah Gurbaz was the only batter to scale double digits in the top order, but otherwise, it was a lacklustre batting approach from the first few batters. Karim Janat held his own and smashed the ball to all corners of the park, scoring a brilliant 48* and taking his side home.
The bowling wasn't up to the mark from the Durban Qalandars bowlers, Daryn Dupavillon was the best bowler as he picked up 2 wickets in his spell and kept things tight. Tendai Chatara also picked up a couple of wickets but wasn't that effective against the wrath of Karim Janat. Mohammad Amir was taken apart as in his second over, the floating powerplay was taken and Janat tore into him and managed to reduce the deficit. Let's go down to see what the captains have to say

8.6 Tendai Chatara to Karim Janat, FOUR! Cape Town Samp Army wins it by four wickets. On the pads and that has been delectably worked away past the square leg region and trickles away to the fence.
8.5 Tendai Chatara to Karim Janat, SIX! That has been dispatched for another maximum. That was on a fuller-length a shade outside off, Janat moves across the off-stump and thumps this over the long-off region for a maximum. That was nailed from the midddle of the bat.
8.5 Tendai Chatara to Karim Janat, WIDE! That was ever so close to the wide line. Chatara going for the wide yorker but just missing his line and called a wide.
8.4 Tendai Chatara to Jonathan Campbell, slower on a length around middle and leg, nudged away down the ground past the bowler and gives the strike back to Karim Janat.
8.3 Tendai Chatara to Jonathan Campbell, back of a length delivery around middle and leg, worked away towards the square leg region by Campbell, bit of a misfiled allows him to take one more.
Jonathan Campbell, LHB, walks out to the middle and will be on strike to face his first delivery
8.2 Tendai Chatara to Tom Curran, WICKET! Tom Curran has been cleaned up here. Beautifully bowled by Chatara, on a goodish length angling back into the right-hander. Curran should have come on the frontfoot but instead he decides to hang back, skids off the surface and breaches his defence to rattle the stumps.
8.1 Tendai Chatara to Karim Janat, a low full toss around middle and leg, swung away across the line towards the deep midwicket region and rotates the strike.
Incredible ball striking from Karim Janat has brought the required runs to a mere run a ball. Cape Town Samp Army need 12 runs in 12 balls. It was a smart decision from them to take the floating batting powerplay

7.6 Mohammad Amir to Karim Janat, this time a mistimed swipe across the line to a slower one on middle, played away towards long-on and Janat will keep strike for the next over.
7.5 Mohammad Amir to Karim Janat, SIX! This is smart batting from Karim Janat. He knew what Amir was trying to do in that over. He moves across the off-stump to get to the area where Amir was bowling, on a length well outside off and that has been drilled up and over and goes well over the widish long-off fence.
7.4 Mohammad Amir to Karim Janat, slower on a length angling across Janat, he tries to muscle it over the off side but doesn't make any contact.
7.3 Mohammad Amir to Karim Janat, SIX! Karim Janat continues to get boundaries. That was banged in short by Amir, leg sidish and it has been dealt with. Uses the pace of the bowler and helps it away around the corner, bit of a swivel pull and clears the dep fine leg fence quite comfortably.
