The boundaries did come for them towards the latter stages, but the Fighters CC left far too many for their middle order. The fact that most of them lacked game sense and went down the route of blind slogging didn't help their case either. They were just not able to get going, and unlike the Fighters CC bowlers, the Gorkha 11 bowled with a lot more discipline, not conceding too many extras.

Fighters CC lost Dalwinder Singh off the first delivery of the chase itself. The big hitting Harjot Sahota struggled to time the ball right, and departed two overs later. The procession of batters continued as we headed into the middle overs, with none of them being able to make any impact. That was pretty much where they lost the game. Some fireworks from the lower order towards the end helped them in lessen the margin of the defeat, thereby avoiding too much damage to their net run rate.

None of the fielders there were able to gather the ball cleanly, the batters decided to come back for a third and made it; Lalit took a theatrical tumble having grounded his bat as it got stuck! Quite an entertaining end to the match, and in the end, Gorkha 11 keep their semi-final hopes well and truly alive by taking this match by 41 runs!

This was full and in the slot, Lalit, as he has done all this while, swung at the ball hard, he got a lot of bat on this one, the ball flew high up over the bowler's head, and ended up just about clearing the ropes at long off!
