Right then, quite a one-sided win this for the Titans as they continue their dominance at the top of the table. However, that's not all from today's action as Super Sunday has another cracking game in store for us! Switch tabs and catch all the live action as Rajasthan Royals lock horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad! Until next time then, this is the duo of Maanas Upadhyay and Sooryanarayanan Sesha, bidding you adieu! Goodbye!
Shubman Gill is the Player of the Match for his sensational unbeaten 94. Here's what he has to say: (Easy game, batting and then resting up?) Not technically (grins), they were bowling well in the powerplay. Our bowlers bowled really well to restrict them to under 180. (On Saha) He's such a fantastic guy to be able to bat with and have that coordination with in the slips. He's one player who has played from the first season and is still playing. The way he's keeping his fitness is just phenomenal. (The plan when Saha was going hard) Just waiting for my opportunity in the first three or four overs. I wasn't getting enough deliveries to face but it was important to continue. (On scoring more sixes than fours) It's all about playing the situation of the match. Previous to this match I didn't hit any sixes in the last two matches and I got a boundary in the 7th over.
Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Titans captain): Yeah I don't think I can ask anything better from the boys. Especially playing after one day's gap and in the afternoon. The way the game changed after that (Rashid's catch) - after the 8th or 9th over we were even-steven but it changed after that. They were chasing the game after that. The catch changed the game. We were under pressure at one point but it is important because in big games, we will be challenged and put under pressure. (Bragging rights over Krunal) I don't think so. My love towards him is very strong. I always wish that he does well. I don't think I will be bragging. Would've been happier if it would've been tighter and he would've gotten the bragging rights. But happy with the way we played.
Mohit Sharma (Gujarat Titans): Yes we (Shami and Mohit Sharma) talk a lot about what to bowl, how to mix-up when the ball is old, and what to do when the ball is new. Since today was a day game, we knew the wicket will slow down. I have practiced the knuckle ball but I have hurt my finger so it won't come out well. I am trying to keep the ball away from the batters and not be in their arc. I keep talking to Ashu bhai (Ashish Nehra) about a variety of things - mainly about how to mix the length delivery. It should be at the top of off stump.
Krunal Pandya (Lucknow Super Giants captain): We just gave away too many runs. When you're chasing around 200 you can afford to take a couple of balls but when it's 227 you have to go all out. Overall the surface played really well. I think the last 6-7 overs it must have been slow but the batters felt it was a good wicket. If we had just restricted them in the first half we would have fancied our chance. Obviously you don't dream of all of these things, captaining your side in the IPL. God has been kind to us. The family's very proud, mum has been happy. She said at the end of the day two points will come home whoever it is (laughs). We do (pull each other's legs) but there's so much love between me and Hardik that we want each other to do well. There's just a little bit of banter. (On taking his catch) I'll definitely tell him about that (grins).
Gujarat Titans 227/2 (20) beat Lucknow Super Giants 171/7 (20) by 56 runs
Shubman Gill 94*(51) | Wriddhiman Saha 81(43) | Avesh Khan 1-34(4) Quinton de Kock 70(41) | Mohit Sharma 4-29(4) | Noor Ahmad 1-26(4)
A clinical performance by the Gujarat Titans and they secure yet another win at home to fortify their position at the top of the table! They've gone up to 16 points already - which one would reckon are enough for a qualification. After putting up a massive total in the first innings, the bowlers have come out and done the job for them. Credit to the bowlers, they pulled things back magnificently after LSG got off to a flier and made it seem like the Super Giants were playing on a different, much larger ground. The pitch slowed down as well and Hardik Pandya's assessment of the track at the toss proved to be right.
Quinton de Kock and Kyle Mayers started off the innings in grand fashion, collecting 72 runs off the powerplay, to push GT onto the back-foot. They attacked Shami, Hardik and even took the Afghan duo of Rashid and Noor to the cleaners. However, after the powerplay is when GT announced their comeback into this contest. They started by dismissing Mayers, a wicket which sucked the momentum out of the LSG batting.
From there on, they never really got going. Quinton de Kock perhaps struggled for timing a touch in the searing heat at Ahmedabad on his return after having kept the wickets for over twenty overs. He kept losing partners at the other end as the GT bowlers ran through the middle order. In the end, the total proved to be far too much and LSG's big power-hitters couldn't get into the double digits as well.
A convincing performance and Gujarat Titans are just carrying on from where they left off last season. As for LSG, their net run-rate would've taken a big hit and they will have to certainly have to go back to the drawing board ahead of their next game.

19.6 Alzarri Joseph to Ravi Bishnoi, SWING AND A MISS! THE TITANS PREVAIL! Back of a length delivery following the batter backing away from his stumps again. Bishnoi throws everything at it but it beats him neck and crop into the keeper's gloves. It started off as a fascinating chase but petered out into a dull one in the end. Gujarat Titans win by 56 runs!
19.5 Alzarri Joseph to Ravi Bishnoi, AND AGAIN! Joseph is bullying him with the short one. Banged into the track as Bishnoi steps out and backs away. Lobs over his head again as he takes evasive action and floors himself in the process
19.4 Alzarri Joseph to Ravi Bishnoi, WHOA! Dug into the track just outside leg stump as he follows Bishnoi backing away. The latter is floored as he ducks in vain before it lobs to the keeper. LSG review for a wide...or have they? Apparently not!
19.3 Alzarri Joseph to Ravi Bishnoi, follows the batter backing away from his stumps with a bumper. Bishnoi sweeps himself off his feet attempting an upper-cut over third man but fails to connect
19.2 Alzarri Joseph to Ravi Bishnoi, FOUR! Bring him up the order maybe? Length delivery outside the off stump and Bishnoi goes downtown. Swings up and over mid-off as it drops well over his head in the outfield for a boundary
19.1 Alzarri Joseph to Swapnil Singh, full and angling into middle and leg stump. Swapnil works it with a clip to deep square leg for a lone run
Alzarri Joseph, right arm fast, is into the attack
Ravi Bishnoi, RHB, walks out to the crease. He will be at the non-striker's end.
Mohit Sharma's slower ones are deadly and he finishes with a four-wicket haul! Oh he's been sensational tonight and he ensures that he sends back the opposition skipper as well!

18.6 Mohit Sharma to Krunal Pandya, OUT! Back-to-back golden ducks for Krunal! Slower one in the slot outside the off stump and Krunal brings out the slog down the ground. Powers it a mile into the sky before he picks out long on to perfection to hand Mohit his fourth wicket. Oh hasn't he been magnificent has Mohit! Badoni was doing all he could to reduce the margin of defeat but he perishes as the slower one does the trick once again! It is just going from bad to worse for LSG!
