What a moment this for Gzira United team, their first ever win of the tournament. Lot of the credit should go to the way Achal Patel batted throughout and towards the end especially, two huge blows that brough the equation down and then Kandel finishes things in style.

Mater Dei were laid back right from their batting effort and on the field as well, plenty of extras given and then boundaries conceded throughout and in the end paid the price for it.

Gzira United got off to a good start, but slowed down slightly in the middle overs but Achal Patel was the man of the moment who kept them in the hunt and ensured their team go over the line.
