And so, that brings a cracking day's Test cricket to an end. Brisbane, Hyderabad - you have dished out two classics. David has overcome Goliath in both and we are sure to talk of this for a long, long time. For the moment though, we're off to catch a breather. Trailing by 190 to turning the game around to take the lead in the series. Ollie Pope and Tom Hartley - from nervous beginnings in the first half of the game to heroes in the second. And a story of self-belief and walking the talk - England have scripted a spectacular result against a fantastic Indian team (in particular, this bowling attack) in their own backyard. This result, and what the West Indies pulled off in Brisbane - cliched as it may sound, long live Test cricket!
But where do India go from here? It can be argued that they wouldn't have tasted a defeat as bitter as this in a long, long time in a home Test. Ravindra Jadeja seemed to pull his hammy too as he was walking off and with no Virat Kohli for the next Test either, the last thing the hosts want is another casualty. They ought not to panic but they sure have been given a harsh reality check alright. How will they bounce back? It's going to make for fascinating viewing.
Ollie Pope is the Player of the Match: Toughest place to come as a batter, to start a series like this heads and shoulders above anything else. I played a miss and few. First-up I was not covering the inside edge. I tried to not to bother too much about the wicket. Some things have worked. I have had a shoulder injury so have had time to work and tweak my technique according to these conditions. The family have had some early starts to their days, nice to allow them get some sleep.
Ben Stokes (England captain): Since I have taken captaincy on, I have been part of some great moments but where we are who we are playing against, this is our greatest triumphs. This is the first time I have been here. I am a learner of the game. I watched a lot and took some things from Rohit. Absolutely thrilled for everyone involved. Tom Hartley on debut, Ollie Pope after the shoulder surgery. Tom came into the squad for the first time, he had got a lot of languages spoken, given a lot of confidence. I just wanted to have a long spell to get that confidence because I knew I'd have to turn to him later. Don't know if that got him seven wickets but yeah. I have played a lot of matches here with a certain Joe Root so seen a lot of special innings. But the way Ollie Pope manipulated the field, rotated the strike, it is the greatest innings played by an English batter here. You lose but you are still breathing the next day. I don't fear failure, just give whoever is in the squad the best chance.
Rohit Sharma (India captain): Cricket has been played over four days and it's hard to pinpoint where it went wrong. Exceptional batting by Pope and I just witnessed one of the best knocks from the overseas batter. I thought 231 was chasable but couldn't apply ourselves with the bat. We analysed what went wrong and I thought the bowlers executed the plans well but you have to give credit to Pope as it was a great knock. We were much in the game after the first innings. (Watching Bumrah and Siraj) wanted to take them to the fifth day but the lower order showed the top-order that you need to show character and fight. We didn't take our chance with the bat and I hope the guys will learn from that
Tom Hartley - It's unbelievable. Not going to sink in for a while and I am over the moon. It didn't spin that much as we thought. Credit to the coaching staff and Stokesy for giving the confidence. It's a same vibe in the dressing room irrespective whether it's a good day or a bad day. I was nervous to start off but getting few runs eased my nerves. The first and last wicket is my favourite as it brought big relief. Wanted to take time at my run up and didn't want to rush. Just saw what Jadeja and Ash were doing and thought we need to take a bit of time.

India doesn't have a fortress like the Gabba. But the walls of pride about a home dominance lasting for decades has got a beating today. BazBall, after being trolled for its name and what is stands for has beaten India at their home to make a statement. They have made a statement that a lot of people don't quite understand it yet. They don't understand that BazBall can comeback from being bowled out for 246 runs in the first innings and conceding a 190-run lead.
It was Ollie Pope's masterclass, perhaps now the greatest innings by an English batter in India, that set the ball rolling for them. He was lucky but he was absolutely brilliant to make that luck be worth 196 runs. Those 196 runs India bettered by just six runs with their whole team. The pitch got slower but not too worse to bat on, India certainly plummeted in quality under pressure.
All of India's frailties were exposed within a few hours. Rohit and Jaiswal were the only ones who came out with intent but Jaiswal looked slightly on the backfoot. Hartley consumed that and got him and Shubman Gill, who has been in poor form, out in three balls. Rohit, criticised for his passive captaincy, tried to sweep his way out of trouble but missed a straight one against Hartley again.
Rahul, Axar and Shreyas got proper starts but failed to make them count due to poor shot selection. No one else seemed to have the technique to counter spin at home. Everyone seemed caught in between pressure and white-ball cricket, giving a feeling that India were not the home team. England were hawkish and just kept rallying around the captain's choices who himself inspired the major boost by getting Jadeja run-out.
With more than 100 runs left, Bharat and Ashwin gave the final ray of hope with a defensive stoic partnership. But it was Hartley again to get both of them to register his first five-wicket haul in Tests and then take out the final wicket of Siraj to finish things off.
69.2 Tom Hartley to Mohammed Siraj, OUT! England go 1-0 up in the series. What an impressive fightback from them led by Ollie Pope. They made the target of 231 look big with high-quality spin bowling. Hartley spear-headed the department and picked up a seven-fer on his debut. He finishes things off by pushing it slower through the air on a good length, Siraj was charging down the track and doesn't get to the pitch of the ball.
