Faheem Ashraf (Player of the Match): I want to thank the almighty for helping me around. The plan was to take it deep and keep trying to take it till the end. Got to back yourself and go with the required rate every over. It was tough and the bowling was very good from them. Wasim Jr helped me a lot. Just tried to make partnerships and take it deep

Shadab Khan (captain, Islamabad United): The kind of player Faheem is, we knew he could finish off games. Would also like to mention Fazalhaq Farooqi as he bowled really well. Our batting is our strength but our bowling has consistently taken a hit. Our bowling is good and we need to do much better. We shuffled our batting throughout the tournament so that all the players regain form. It is important to bat for a certain time in the middle so that players regain form before the play offs

Mohammad Rizwan (captain, Multan Sultan): When we started off, we were aiming for 220, but we failed to start like that and also batted poorly in the end overs. The pitch is very good, but if you look at the finishing, luck went on their side. When we looked at how things were going, we always look at the small things that could've gone well. The problems we faced in a couple of matches before, we are able to recover them well. Hopefully, we will be able to finish off games well and win matches

Azhar Mahmood (Islamabad United coach): Absolutely brilliant from Faheem Ashraf. He showed his class and character. He is one of the best all-rounders in Pakistan! Shows you the self-belief, he stayed till the last ball. Unreal! This is a good start for us, Shadab is getting back into form. It is a good sign that everyone is chipping in. Within the team, it is good to have competition between places. Last four overs with the ball, against one of the best hitters in the world, proud of those guys too. Multan won a couple of games last year and even this season. Winning against a quality side gives us confidence. It is a T20 game, a tough game but we will enjoy this.

Wow, what a chase. This is incredible. Faheem Ashraf not only wins his side the match but also chases down 18 in the final over, a record never achieved by any side before in PSL.

Islamabad United didn't have the best of starts as they lost the wicket of Alex Hales early in the chase. Colin Munro and Gurbaz chipped in with vital knocks but couldn't score anything substantial.

They were having a tough time in the middle as they lost Asif Ali and Azam Khan cheaply. But Shadab Khan showed them the way how to bat on a track like this and helped them to compete run for run, a wicket for a wicket in the middle overs.

Shadab Khan was dismissed, but that wasn't the end as Faheem Ashraf stood up and finished this match for his side. Faheem in particular, was at his best as he managed to smash the ball as cleanly as possible. He, along with a cameo from Wasim Jr., was able to take his side over the line, chasing a huge total.

Spare a thought for Multan Sultans. They bowled their heart out but failed to restrict their opposition to a score less than what they registered. Anwar Ali, Ishanullah, Usama Mir and Abbas Afridi registered themselves in the wickets column, with Anwar picking up 3 wickets and Ihsanullah holding onto his purple cap firmly, picking 2 wickets in this game and 19 wickets in the tournament overall.
