The run-chase was about one man and one man only. Musa Ahmed produced an exhibition of how to maul an attack and chase down a tricky total with minimal fuss. The tone was set in the first over itself, with Musa smashing 17 out of the 19 in the first over from Hasan Ali. Floyd hit a six himself, but found himself enjoying the Musa Ahmed show more often in the first couple of overs. It was Shirase Rasool who took up that role after Floyd's dismissal, as Musa kept clearing the ropes at his own will.

Spin, pace.... bowling of no kind was being spared. In between all the carnage, Jagmeet Singh slipped in a rather quiet, economical, 5-run over, angling the ball away from Musa and also dismissing Rasool. That brought Boris Gorlee to the crease, and then we saw the burly right-hander whack a few clean ones right out of the screws. The fact that Musa was dropped in his 20s were of no help at all to the Italians, who'd feel deflated coming across such a performance, but they must re-group and come back stronger, for there's plenty more left to play in the competition from hereon.
