The night just seems to be getting better for Babar Azam as he is awarded the Player of the Tournament award as well!

The Spirit of Cricket Award is presented to the Multan Sultans for upholding the spirit of the game.
Karachi Kings win the fifth edition of PSL, defeating the Lahore Qalandars by 5 wickets!

Chasing 135 runs, the Kings got off to quite a decent start as Sharjeel Khan contributed with a 12-ball 13 before being dismissed by Samit Patel. Alex Hales came in next and scored a run-a-ball 11 before he was castled by an off-cutter by Dilbar Hussain.

Babar Azam, who had walked out to open, saw wickets tumbling at the other end and took responsibility as he smacked a glorious half-century. He stitched a crucial 61-run partnership with Chadwick Walton which turned the game in their favour completely. The batsman assessed the sluggish nature of the pitch well and executed his shots to perfection.

Azam anchored the chase and finished unbeaten for a 49-ball 63 while Chadwick Walton played his part with a gritty 27-ball 22. A flurry of wickets towards the end of the innings could have turned the game in favour of the Qalandars but Imad Wasim came to the crease and his cameo of 10(7) sealed the match.

As for the bowlers, Dilbar Hussain and Haris Rauf picked up a couple of wickets each while Samit Patel contributed with one. Credit to the Lahore bowlers, they fought till the very end but were just outdone by an innings that oozed class by Azam. Quite an anti-climatic finish to a tournament  which saw some matches go right down the wire.

However, Karachi Kings undoubtedly played better on the day and are deserving champions. Karachi have won the title for the first time ever and have done it on their home ground. A special moment for the team and Wasim Akram dedicates the win to Dean Jones
18.4 Shaheen Afridi to Imad Wasim, FOUR! KARACHI WIN! It was a length ball outside off and Imad Wasim the captain punched this handsomely through the gap between extra cover and mid-off. Karachi Kings win PSL 2020 by 5 wickets
18.3 Shaheen Afridi to Babar Azam, low full-toss on the pads, clipped away to deep square for a single. Just a hit away from win now!
18.2 Shaheen Afridi to Imad Wasim, another good yorker and Wasim was dancing down the track, he hit it straight to mid-on and darted across for a single, would have been out at the non-strikers end had there been a direct hit!
18.1 Shaheen Afridi to Imad Wasim, excellent yorker, all Wasim can do is hit it back to the bowler
Haris Rauf picked up two wickets in two deliveries first up and that seemed to give the Qalandars some hope. However, he sprayed on the pads of Wasim which was flicked nonchalantly to the boundary rope. A single of the last delivery allowed the Kings to collet 5 runs off that over.

Karachi Kings need another 6 runs from 2 overs. Surely just the formalities remain now.

Shaheen Shah Afridi is back into the attack!

cricket ball icon Haris Rauf
17.6 Haris Rauf to Imad Wasim, short on off stump, cut away to deep point for a single. Just 6 needed now off the final 2 overs
17.5 Haris Rauf to Imad Wasim, FOUR! Full on the pads and Imad Wasim chips it away into the vacant leg-side, nobody there and it runs away for a boundary!
17.4 Haris Rauf to Imad Wasim, full and into the body, gets an inside edge on to this pads, dot ball. Suddenly the Qalandars' fielders are buzzing!
17.3 Haris Rauf to Imad Wasim, back of a length on the stumps and Wasim defends that safely
17.2 Haris Rauf to Sherfane Rutherford, GONE! TWO IN TWO! Well then! This was another length ball that stuck in the pitch yet again and Rutherford got a leading edge that was safely pouched by the captain at mid-on! Haris Rauf is on a HAT-TRICK!

Imad Wasim walks in to bat!
17.1 Haris Rauf to Iftikhar Ahmed, OUT! CAUGHT! Soft dismissal here, it was a length ball that got stuck in the pitch and Iftikhar was through his shot too early and ended up chipping to straight to David Weise at mid-on! The Qalandars are just about managing to hang in there.

Sherfane Rutherford walks in to bat!
Wiese cannot make an impact as the batsmen are not troubled by the veteran's harmless medium-pacers. They play him for singles and doubles throughout the over before Azam lofts one magnificently over mid off and collects a boundary. The Kings are just 11 runs away from victory now, which they need to achieve in 3 overs.

Haris Rauf is back into the attack!

cricket ball icon David Wiese
16.6 David Weise to Babar Azam, IN THE AIR and it clears the man inside the circle! For a moment Babar would have had his heart in his mouth as he hit this full delivery over the man at mid-off, didn't get a good piece of it but just enough to clear the man and go for FOUR!
16.5 David Weise to Iftikhar Ahmed, slower ball on the pads, Ahmed fails to connect and it hits his pads and trickles towards square leg, they pick up a single.
16.4 David Weise to Babar Azam, length ball outside off and Babar guides this to third man for a single
