It was never going to be an easy chase for Kings XI given how much they had to go after, but they just never got going throughout their innings. It started in similar fashion to Janjua Brescia, who began slow before an Ahmadullah Safi blitz powered them to a score of 111. Alas, Kings XI never found their answer to Safi through the course of the chase.

The openers were kept quiet in the powerplay with no sort of impetus coming into their stay. Vikas Kumar was eventually run out and while Jagjit Singh took his time, he failed to make up for it and departed with the asking rate rising with each passing over. The Kings were going nowhere at the halfway mark and left themselves with too much to do.

Mind you, the bowlers were excellent for Janjua as they kept things largely tight. There were a few dropped catches but thankfully from their perspective, none of them proved to be costly. Jagmeet Singh looked to attack his way against Bachittar Singh but the latter managed to pick up his wicket, ending as the pick of the bowlers along the way. Jaswinder SIngh then fought hard despite seeing the asking rate soar over 20 per over but it was just a case of 'too little, too late' as the Kings fell shy by a good 29 runs.

Two losses in as many games and clearly, there's a lot to ponder over as far as Kings XI are concerned. As for Janjua Brescia, they couldn't have asked for a more clinical start to their campaign and will hope that this turbocharges them for the upcoming games in their schedule.

Quite a comfortable victory in the end for Janjua Brescia. They've done it without breaking a sweat and have opened their account for the tournament in style!
