Alright then, that will be that for this year's Tamil Nadu Premier League! And finally, after a long, long wait, Ravichandran Ashwin gets his hands on the coveted trophy with the Dindigul Dragons! An inspired effort from the captain, as well as, the entire team, in getting to the pinnacle from a position where they were getting written off! But once again, this has been a superbly conducted tournament with the cricket's quality taking the cake. We have had the privilege of bringing you the coverage of this wonderful tournament and we cannot wait to continue doing so with many, many more competitions around the globe. Ravichandran Ashwin (Dindugal Dragons captain) - This win comes in a flow. The only team to be defeated by Salem is us. There were ups and downs at the start and we weren't at our best. There was something missing in all our matches but we turned up 100% today. I am happy for each of them and my wish is to see few players represent Tamil Nadu in the future. Credit to Sharath. He had a shoulder problem so far but today he fielded like Jonty Rhodes. The aim is to open up the team. We didn't have a coach. We had many conversations about my opening batting but taking Cricket aside, I had a great time travelling in and around Tamil Nadu. Siddharth has been brilliant, Shivam Singh has been batting well. A lot of players made the switch but we have to see where they go from here. We made it to the playoffs and I have been telling the owners that we will win the title. I am hesitant to hold the trophy as the young boys are so excited

Shahrukh Khan (Lyca Kovai Kings Captain) -It was a fantastic tournament. Really happy with the boys about the work they put in. The result didn't go in our way but we were really good. When you play in Chennai and other venues, the wickets will get slower. We didn't bat well in the middle overs. I am trying to push my limit to play for the team but it is a bitter pill to swallow. The teams come first than my individual performance

Varun Chakravarthy - Won the IPL a month back and won the TNPL now. This is a great team. They were fighting for the trophy for eight years and now, they have it. We had a great bowling attack and were backing our bowlers. Our job is to take wickets and we delivered it. I worked on my batting and Ashwin already acknowledged it

Affan Khader - It feels amazing. Hard to put into words. Fianlly, after eight years, we made it.

C Sarath Kumar. Ashwin conducted a team meeting and told that there will be a Jonty Rhodes in the team. There is a difference between a core team and a normal team. If we win, Ashwin is the first one to congratulate the players

Shivam Singh. Amazing, I can't express in words. He is a legend and player like him play this format is wonderful. The intensity that he shows is unbelievable. TNPL is one of the best platforms for the youngsters

Baba Indrajith - The scream has to come natural. Cheapuk is a beautiful venue and our dream is to play this final here. Don't want to dedicate this to one but want to do it for the team. It is a complete team effort. We badly wanted to win it. He is a fantastic character but Ashwin has worked with Vignesh a lot in the nets. He used to tell him about every delivery

What a brilliant win from a magnificent team! Dindigul Dragons were able to right all the wrongs and pull off a fantastic campaign! And this chase was all about calm, experienced heads!

After losing two early wickets, including Orange Cap holder Shivam Singh, sense needed to prevail and two accomplished Tamil Nadu cricketers in Ashwin and Baba Indrajith took charge!

Both these batters stitched together a crucial 65-run partnership for the 3rd wicket. They managed to take pressure off the rest of the batting line-up and steer the Dragons clears of most threats that Lyca Kovai Kings had to offer.

Shahrukh Khan, who was slightly injured, was late in bringing himself on but managed to remove Indrajith. However, Sarath Kumar came out, swung his bat around, connected a few and got the Dragons ever closer.

Ashwin then went on to bring up his 4th TNPL half-century and showed just why is is such a class-act, even with the bat! He did get out with 9 runs left to win, but the pair of Boopathi Kumar and Sarath made sure that they got the job done rather easy!

Apart from Manimaran Siddharth, no other bowler was able to put the kind of pressure on the Dragons' batting. But again, he was unable to pick up more than one wicket.

On a sporting pitch, and thankfully, in rain-less weather, Dindigul Dragons have won their first even TNPL, beating a top-quality Lyca Kovai Kings side!
