All over, Mumbai do the inevitable in 9.4 overs! They win their second consecutive match of the SMAT 2023 league phase.

Mumbai chase 66 in 9.4 overs to beat Meghalaya with nine wickets to spare!

They weren't as ruthless as some would have expected them to be but Mumbai have taken a clinical win home nevertheless. 66 was always going to be a small total to chase and the credit for that goes to Deshmande and Mulani who were excellent in the first innings.

Jaiswal did come out with a mindset of seeing off a few deliveries before going all out. He got dropped in the first over, hit a couple of boundaries and got out against Bishnoi trying to force his way through the innings.

Raghuvanshi, on the other end, looked to time the deliveries from the onset. He didn't time everything into the gap but kept taking the singles and eventually found more boundaries. Ajinkya Rahane came to bat and looked like gave the instructions for a calm finish instead of a breathtaking one. He and Raghuvanshi cornered the ball around, took a few singles every over to crawl to the target in the 10th over.

Meghalaya have a lot of lessons to take from this defeat, especially for their batting lineup who looked like they were playing the opposition and not the deliveries on merit. If they can work on that and their fielding, they might be able to give a better fight to the teams ahead in the competition.

9.3 Anish Charak to Ajinkya Rahane, that's the game for Mumbai. Flatter on a length around off, worked away off the backfoot towards the off side and takes a quick single to hand Mumbai a comprehensive 9 wicket victory.
