Francois Du Plessis (Texas Super Kings Captain): "It felt like a bit of a steal. We were good in the first 10 overs, we were way ahead but then not so great in the next 10. But some run-outs and the game changed. (On Daryl Mitchell) He had a tough start but came back superbly in the last over. Adam Milne has been spectacular, he has been a regular in the circuit over the last few years. It is nice when such moments come up. I still love fielding, still love chasing the ball. We really enjoyed it. Looking at the stadium, you can feel the buzz around. It is great to see two sports collide. What better way to showcase the MLC than having the El Classico."

The partnership between Savage and Conway, thought they got 15 too many but can't fault the bowlers too much. Felt like we were in the game, just needed one more wicket. Well played to them. I have to put my hand up obviously. I got out second ball after getting a life, so was disappointed with that. Hopefully, I can do well going forward."

It was an ominous start to the chase for MI-NY, who lost three wickets in the power play. The newest pair of Agni Chopra and Quinton de Kock failed to put on a show, with both of them being dismissed cheaply. Later on, it was Nicholas Pooran who took down someone who had dismissed him twice before in this league's history - Noor Ahmed.

At the start of the middle overs, it was Monank Patel and Michael Bracewell to sped things up a bit and had MINY at an advantage when in that position. Bracewell and Monank took down Mohammad Mohsin and ensured big runs came before the first timeout break. From there on, the pair added 50 runs for the fourth wicket, with Monank also getting to his half century. As for Bracewell, he slowed down a bit and looked set for a 50, but a fine catch from Faf du Plessis ended his stay in the middle.

Monank was then joined in the middle by Kieron Pollard, and the behemoth was a bit slow to start, but ensured that he managed to smash the daylights out of Mitchell post the second timeout break. However, since the fifth ball of that over, run outs were the order as Pollard, Patel, and later Trent Boult, all of them were caught short of their mark at their respective ends. The game changed in favour of TSK, and it looked like they were going to win. They turned that feeling into reality as they managed to defend 9 off the last over and romped home with two points.
