Pakistan won by 42 runs
Mohammad Rizwan 38(38) | Iftikhar Ahmed 3/24(4) Glenn Phillips 26(22) | Tim Southee 2/19(4)
Pakistan finally managed to win a game in their Trans-Tasman tour as they defeated New Zealand by 42 runs in the final T20I to make the scoreline 4-1 in favor of the home team. The target of 135 looked very chaseable at the halfway stage and a 5-0 whitewash looked inevitable when Finn Allen started off with a few powerful strokes. Shaheen introduced Mohammad Nawaz and the left arm spinner bagged the wicket of Rachin Ravindra in his opening over.
He kept things tight and was the best bowler on display in the middle overs. Allen looked good during his knock of 22 which came in 19 deliveries before he clofted one Zaman Khan delivery to the mid on fielder where Hasebullah Khan took a brilliant diving catch. Strokemaking got more difficult as each over passed by as the Pakistan spinners Usama Mir and Nawaz kept squeezing the New Zealand batters.
Will Young and Mark Chapman departed in quick succession and there was no coming from that rut. Iftikhar Ahmed was introduced into the attack for the first time in the series and he had a day to remember. He bagged the important wicket of Seifert before ending his spell with two more which included the wickets of Matt Henry and Ish Sodhi.
Glenn Phillips seemed to be the lone warrior for New Zealand but it was always coming in a losing cause as the Kiwis kept losing wickets consistently. Usama Mir bagged his first while Shaheen Afridi ended the match with the wickets of Glenn Phillips and Lockie Ferguson.
That's a great delivery from Shaheen Afridi to end the match as Pakistan finally salvage something out of this series. Good way for Pakistan to finish the series here in New Zealand. It's been a tough tour of Australia and New Zealand and they have finally managed to pick up a win. Even for the majority of this game, they were behind the eight ball but take nothing away from their bowling performance. New Zealand batted poorly, succumbs to their second lowest T20I score in New Zealand.
17.2 Shaheen Afridi to Lockie Ferguson, THATS IT!!! GONE!!! Afridi gets Ferguson and wraps up things. Yorker at the stumps. Ferguson moves away from the line of the ball and looks to drive that to the off side but misses. The ball clatters into the stumps and that is the end of things here.
Lockie Ferguson, RHB is the new man in.
That's a great catch by Abbas Afridi and now surely Pakistan are now. Shaheen rolling his fingers over that delivery and Phillips got that high on the bat.
17.1 Shaheen Afridi to Glenn Phillips, GONE!!!! Phillips has gone and that probably is the match for Pakistan. Short ball at the off stump. Phillips looks to pull that but gets a top edge to be taken by Abbas Afridi at deep mid-wicket.
Glenn Phillips C Abbas Afridi b Shaheen Afridi 26 (22b, 1x4, 1x6)
Iftikhar Ahmed could have finished with four wickets but Farhan not managing to hold onto that. Glenn Phillips has shifted the momentum in the game in that over. A four and a six has given New Zealand an outside chance here. Stil 43 more runs needed off 18 deliveries.

16.6 Iftikhar Ahmed to Glenn Phillips, full this time at the off and middle. Phillips swings across the line and plays it in the air to deep mid-wicket. Farhan in the deep makes good ground but drops the catch and concedes a single.
That was a great effort by Sahibzada Farhan, Phillips didn't get all of that but just about manages to get enough.
16.5 Iftikhar Ahmed to Glenn Phillips, SIX!!!! Short at the off and middle. Phillips goes to his back foot and pulls it over mid-wicket for a maximum.
16.4 Iftikhar Ahmed to Glenn Phillips, FOUR!!! Short outside the off stump. Phillips gives himself room and cuts it over covers for a boundary.
16.3 Iftikhar Ahmed to Tim Southee, full at the off stump. Southee mistimes the slog to long-on for a single.
16.2 Iftikhar Ahmed to Tim Southee, good length and that spins into the batter. Southee swings at it and misses.
16.1 Iftikhar Ahmed to Glenn Phillips, good length at the off stump. Phillips swats it away to long-off for a single.
Shaheen Afridi has taken the review here for the LBW. It looks optimistic to be honest. Pitching could be well outside leg. Fair delivery to start with. That's clearly struck Southee outside the line there. No bat involved and ball tracking shows impact uumpire's call and wickets umpire's call as well. That's the 16th over gone by and New Zealand on the brink. Phillips has to play a blinder here.

15.6 Shaheen Afridi to Tim Southee, APPEAL!!!!! Not given. Full at the off stump. Southee looks to go to long-on but misses and is hit on the pads. There is an appeal for the leg before but the umpire is unmoved. The Pakistan team have taken the review here. Faire delivery and there is no bat involved in that. The impact is umpire's call, so the on-field decision stands. The single was turned down on that ball so that Phillips has the strike in the next over.
15.5 Shaheen Afridi to Glenn Phillips, full and outside the off stump. Phillips swats that away to long-on for a single.
15.4 Shaheen Afridi to Tim Southee, full and slower outside the off stump. Southee gets a leading edge that falls short of the fielder and a single is taken.
