AUK beats OVR by 12 runs!

A thoroughly professional performance from the Knights, who were spot on with bat and ball. After putting up a total of 107, they needed to pick a few early wickets to stay ahead in this contest, which they did with Asif Sha and Nithin K Babu picking three wickets between them. Although the Knights had to deal with the resistance of Andy Naudi and Clyde Palmer, the Knights chipped in with the wickets at regular intervals. Overseas CC wouldn't have come close to the Knights score if not for a sparkling cameo from Daniel Kniverton, who took the attack to Nithin Babu in the last over. Nevertheless, it was a brilliant performance from the Knights, who have won their second game of the competition at the expense of Overseas CC. That's it from this game but the action isn't over. There's more coming your way with the inaugural Lankan Premier League also fast approaching. Until next time, this is Dwijesh along with Lavil, signing off. Good Bye!
9.6 Nithin Babu to Matthew Town, back of a length delivery, misses Towns bat and goes to the keeper. A dot ball to end the innings and AUK, with that, will win the match by 12 runs
9.5 Nithin Babu to Matthew Town, full length delivery outside off, Town has a play and a miss. No run
9.4 Nithin Babu to Daniel Kniverton, length ball outside off, tapped on the leg side for a single
9.3 Nithin Babu to Daniel Kniverton, FOUR AGAIN!! Full and given room on the offside, Daniel throws the kitchen sink at it and the ball runs away for a boundary
9.2 Nithin Babu to Daniel Kniverton, FOUR!! Length ball outside off, Kniverton strikes it firmly from the middle of the bat and the ball goes away to the ropes for boundary
9.1 Nithin Babu to Daniel Kniverton, full length ball outside off, Kniverton has a play and a mis
OVR 81/6 after 9 overs! OVR needs 27 runs off 6 balls!

A mere formality from here on with an AUK win being nearly inevitable. Unless, we some extraordinary hitting from Kniverton, who is well and truly capable of doing so.
8.6 Bose Paul to Clyde Palmer, CAUGHT!! Back of a length delivery, Palmer looked to get the big shot but gets the top edge and point fielder pouches it safely
8.5 Bose Paul to Clyde Palmer, FOUR!! Full and outside off, Palmer fetches it, sends it to long-on where the fielder gets his feet to the ropes and allows them a boundary
8.4 Bose Paul to Clyde Palmer, full length ball outside off, Palmer has a play and a miss, no run
8.3 Bose Paul to Daniel Kniverton, full delivery outside off, Daniel gets a edge to third man for a single
8.2 Bose Paul to Daniel Kniverton, FOUR!! Short ball dug into the pitch, Kniverton gets the top edge over the keeper and a fielding blunder allows them a boundary
8.1 Bose Paul to Clyde Palmer, back of a length delivery hit straight to square leg for a single
OVR 71/5 after 8 overs! OVR needs 37 runs from 12 balls!

This game might have just slipped away from Overseas CC with George coming up with a good tidy over. Palmer will remain key although he would have to score at the rate of knots from here on to get them close to the total!
7.6 B. George to Daniel Kniverton, full-length ball outside off, half-hearted miss from Daniel. No run
7.5 B. George to Daniel Kniverton, length ball hit to deep extra cover for a brace
7.4 B. George to Daniel Kniverton, back of a length delivery, Kniverton gets a top edge and it falls safe. A run-out chance is missed at the strikers end
7.3 B. George to Clyde Palmer, back of a length delivery tapped on the ground for a single
7.2 B. George to Clyde Palmer, length ball hit down the ground. An excellent fielding effort allows them a brace
