That will be the end of today's coverage of the Under 19 World Cup game between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Pakistan have now qualified to the quarter-finals of the World Cup while Afghanistan will have to play a virtual knockout game against Zimbabwe to confirm their spot for the next stage. We will be back with some more action tomorrow, till then it is Raghav and Abhishek signing off.
Qasim Akram | Pakistan captain: I'm pleased with the team's work. As batters and bowlers both contributed, I was confident in my teammates' abilities. Throughout the innings, I had trust in the bowlers. We were able to take wickets and hold the total. Our primary strength is our bowling, although the batters did a good job today. After those run-outs, the lads were fired up, and we got three run-outs in the second inning which was turning point.
Suliman Safi | Afghanistan captain: It was a tight game, but we lost after two set batters were ran out. We also handed out an additional 20 runs. We have a good batting and bowling lineup, and we'll be ready to take on Zimbabwe. I have faith in my teammates.
Maaz Sadaqat, Player of the Match: I came by a plan of playing all the 8 overs, and I batted according to that plan. I decided to attack in the last two overs and it worked out for me. I consider myself a bowler who can bat. I love Mohammad Rizwan's attitude and his love for the game. I follow the way he trains.
What a win, what a win for Pakistan! They have come out on top against their neighbours and won the match by 24 runs. Afghanistan will be disappointed with the result, especially considering how close they were in different stages of the game. The run-outs and the expensive last-wicket stand for Pakistan will haunt them. However, Pakistan, they have now qualified for the knockouts while Afghanistan will have to beat Zimbabwe next up to qualify.
Afghanistan were off to a decent start. They did not lose any wickets in the powerplay and added 36 runs on the board. However, Awais Ali struck instantly after the close of field restrictions. The spinners completely dried up the run flow and Afghanistan were short of runs at the halfway stage despite having wickets in their hand. That's where the Afghan batters lost the plot. Sayedi got himself castled while looking to switch gears. Safi and Noor ran themselves out soon and Afghanistan were in a mess.
Once they consolidated, Qasim Akram struck with two wickets in an over and kept their batters under immense pressure. There was another run out. Pakistan were excellent with their direct hits and Naveed was another Afghan batter running himself out. The lower order kept hitting boundaries at regular intervals to take the match close but they weren't enough to take the side home.
Ahmadzai and Noor Ahmed did the damage in the end but Awais Ali dismissed them both and made sure his side wins the match and make it to the next stage of Under 19 World Cup.

49.6 Zeeshan Zameer to Naweed Zadran, a length delivery just above the off stump as Zadran fails to get his bat to that ball. Pakistan win by 24 runs.
49.5 Zeeshan Zameer to Naweed Zadran, OHH! Full, pacy and just outside off, just misses Zadran's outside edge and the off stump.
49.4 Zeeshan Zameer to Bilal Sami, length and besides leg, Sami comes across and flicks it to deep square leg for a single.
49.3 Zeeshan Zameer to Bilal Sami, full and raps Sami on the legs, probably drifting too much as the umpire looks not interested at all.
49.2 Zeeshan Zameer to Bilal Sami, another slow delivery into the stumps as Sami defends it. 26 off 4 now...
49.1 Zeeshan Zameer to Bilal Sami, slow and short in the middle, Bilal shimmies down the line but gets no bat.
26 needed off the final over now. Pakistan have the victory secured in their bag. It has been a valiant effort from the Afghanistan boys but not enough to chase down the target.

48.6 Awais Ali to Bilal Sami, length and into the middle, Sami comes down the line and goes inside out to the sweeper cover
48.5 Awais Ali to Bilal Sami, short, slow, outside off, Sami looks to cut it above but gets no bat to it.
48.4 Awais Ali to Bilal Sami, length and outside off, and Sami swings and misses it.
Naweed Zadran, RHB, comes to the crease.
That will be that. Pakistan are just looking to close this out. Third wicket for Awais and with this one it will be all but over for Afghanistan.
48.3 Awais Ali to Noor Ahmad, TAKEN BY THE 'KEEPER! Short and into the middle, Noor top edges his pull and the ball ends safely in the hands of the 'keeper.
