A historic win for Bangladesh over their Asian rivals Pakistan in an absorbing test match sees them claim a 1-0 lead in this 2 test match series. Pakistan have all to do when both the teams return on the same venue after 4 days, Friday the 30th. History would beckon for Bangladesh again who would be looking to repeat this result but expect Pakistan to bounce back as they would definitely avoid being humbled at their own backyard. Hope the second test match would be fun as well as we take your leave from this one. This is Sourabh and Pragadeesh on behalf of the entire team at Sportskeeda leaving you with a hope of seeing you soon. Goodbye!
Najmul Hossain Shanto (Bangladesh Captain) : Very special (his birthday total). It is pretty massive, we have never won here. Before the start of the series, I said we can win wit and we believed that we could do it this time. Specially in the last 10-15 days, everyone has done really well. Credit goes to all the bowlers. With the new ball, Shoriful and Hasan, Shakib, we all know, how good he is. Mehidy has now played a lot of test matches. Shadman was really brilliant specially the first few overs he and Zakir batted, that was really important, I hope they continue. Outstanding from him (Mushfiqur). He has been doing it for the last 15-17 years, coming in and doing the same things again and again since so many years. Not only him but I am giving the credit to all 15 members.
Shan Masood (Pakistan Captain) - Look, never to make an excuse, the pitch didn't play the way we expected. We lost half a day on the first day. The weather in Rawalpindi - We have been here for 9 days and it has rained almost every day. A lot of factors but we we have to rectify the mistakes that we did. Looking at the pitch, we expected the pitch to do more and with three fast bowlers, we wanted to have a go. At the end the of the day, we didn't get a lot of things right. The reasons for declaration is a positive push and to have a crack at them in the fourth innings. There is something that we could've done better with the ball and on the field. Look it's a mix of things. When you are playing for a draw and that's where the funny things happen. The cracks have opened up since last evening. The Bangladesh bowlers bowled really well and we could've done a few things better but overall, credit to their bowlers. There is always a room for spinner. We lost Aamer Jamal an all-rounder. He can bat and bowl. When we needed a spinner in Sydney, Sajid Khan played there and it didn't work. One thing doesn't work now that doesn't mean that it won't work again. There were different pitches produced in Rawalpindi in domestic matches. We have to know what is expected on this track and don't make the mistake again
Mushfiqur Rahim (Player of the Match) : This is one of my finest innings so far. We have not done well so far, so that is our goal. To put up a performance to show that we can play well overseas as well. Credit to all the batters, prepared really well back in home and here as well. Before this series we had a good two and a half months break, we had a really good camp to prepare, specially for the red-ball guys as the white-ball guys were playing the T20 World Cup. Thanks to the support staff. I never think that I am the oldest or take any pressure, for me it is an opportunity to represent my team in a test match. I would like to donate this award to the people back in Bangladesh who are stuck in floods.
Time for the post-match presentations

BANGLADESH HAVE ETCHED THIER NAMES IN THE HISTORY BOOKS!! Records galore, achievements unlocked and absolute ecstasy in the dressing room and on the ground as the Tigers complete a famous victory over Pakistan for the first time in the history of Test cricket.
They also become the first team to win a test match against Pakistan by 10 wickets but this win is much more than just records, numbers and stats. It means much more than that to Bangladesh and their skipper, Najmul Hossain Shanto, who is celebrating his 26th birthday today. Records are meant to be broken is what he said before the start of the match and hasn't his team lived by his words, there certainly wouldn't be a better way for him to celebrate his birthday.
An absolute team effort is what this has been from Bangladesh as they end up not only winning but dominating the hosts who came into this with new personnel in their support staff hoping to answer some serious questions but now find themselves with even more brutal questions coming their way as they lose another home test match, 5th in the last 3 years.
Questions will be raised and rightly so on the approach of Pakistan right from the selection of their team when they chose to go with an all-seam attack on what seemed like a green-top on the first morning. As it turned out, the pitch aided spin just like any other subcontinent time as time went by and Pakistan had no one to turn to. Also, remember, they had chosen to declare on 448/6 on Day 2 in the first innings. Can they have been more ruthless and gone for a few more runs with batting armory in the tank remaining. As it turned out, Bangladesh obtained a healthy first innings lead. On the final day as well, Pakistan batters crumbles under the pressure applied by the Bangladesh bowlers and collapsed to lose the test match.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, were brilliant in all facets. They had multiple heroes who put their hands up at different times of the match and took them past the line. On the first day, with the new ball in hand, their new ball bowlers, Shoriful Islam and Hasan Mahmud had Pakistan under pressure at 16/3 on a green top. They let them get away from there but when the batters got their opportunity with the bat. Young Shadman missed out on a well-deserved century, Mominum got an important 50 while Litton and Mehidy got crucial half-centuries down the order as well. But, the big innings, came from the little man, Mushfiqur Rahim who delivered yet again for Bangladesh and scored a mammoth 191. All of this enabled Bangladesh to get a first innings lead of 117 runs.
They had their tail up with the ball, runs behind their backs and put the hosts under huge pressure in the third innings of the match. The three seamers started off the job claiming the first three wickets including the big one of Babar Azam. Post then, the spin duo of Mehidy and Shakib took over and on a pitch which was aiding spin on the final day, they spun a web around them. Pakistan batting faltered and they were dismissed for a paltry which included a single-handed effort from Mohammad Rizwan.
Bangladesh needed 30 runs to claim their first win against Pakistan and their openers made sure that they made no fuss about it.
6.3 Agha Salman to Zakir Hasan, FOUR! Bangladesh win their first-ever Test match in Pakistan. They write a new chapter in the history books. The players look delighted in the dressing room. What a moment this is for Bangladesh. Pitched up and angling back, Zakir sweeps it behind square to fine leg to seal things in style
6.2 Agha Salman to Shadman Islam, short of a length and outside off-stump, Shadman cuts it down to cover for a single
