Muhammad Waseem has been adjudged the Man of the Match! Here is what he has to say.

Muhammad Waseem (United Arab Emirates captain): I was looking forward to this opportunity and thankfully, was able to pick up my first ODI hundred! My idea is to always play well for the team and contribute to team wins. It will be a good day tomorrow but we will give it our best to pick up another victory.

Assad Vala (Papua New Guinea captain): It has been a disappointing campaign to say the least. But I think we have done well in the last month or so. We are improving with every game. We are batting well and things can only get better from here on. So we need to stay hopeful about the consistency. John Kariko bowled well and looks a tremendous prospect going forward for our team.

Eventually, this turned out to be a rather one-sided affair. Muhammad Waseem, the captain of the United Arab Emirates, struck a timely century and won the game almost single-handedly for them.

Although he departed soon after he got to the three-figure mark, it was Aayan Afzal Khan who struck a few timely blows to almost take them home. He too perished right before the game ended, but he was instrumental in this game.

He bowled well earlier in the day and whipped some huge hits out of the park when he came out to bat. However, it was Waseem's performance that will draw the most plaudits.

This was his first in One Day Internationals, and one that he is going to remember for a very long time. For Papua New Guinea, none of their bowlers did well and that was the reason why United Arab Emirates were able to wrap this game up quickly.

The latter will be extremely confident with this result while Papua New Guinea will not be displeased having at least put up more than 200 runs on the board. That is a big win for them.
