Commentary

It's all over now as the Spartans were too strong for the Barbarians in the first encounter and got a commanding win in this all-Prague battle. Well, the Barbarians kept things tight in the powerplay as the Spartans just managed 12 runs in three overs and lost Gunasekaran. Until the halfway stage of the innings, the bowlers bowled sensibly, and Birendra Kumar in particular, conceded just four runs in his two overs.

With 35 needed in the final five overs, Jagannivasan targeted Chaganty and smashed him for 15 runs before going after Vandrasi to ease all the pressure. He eventually helped the team cross the line with 12 balls to spare. The Barbarians won't be happy with their batting display and they need to put on a better show against Moravian in the second match of the day.
