Thisara Perera has been awarded as the Player of the match. Here's what he had to say - I think like a bowler when I bat and the other way round being an all-rounder. It was not easy to get runs, it was on the lower side, realized that it was not easy to hit every ball so rotated the strike. It is always good for a player to have some trophies in the cabinet.

Red Carpet Delhi have cantered home by 5 wickets and have handed Mumbai Champions a huge loss with a whopping 32 deliveries to spare.

Having come out to chase 140, it was always going to be about early wickets. The openers, Herschelle Gibbs and Richard Levi started well and even though Gibbs got out in the 4th over, Levi was standing strong at one end and played some good shots. Asela Gunaratne, centurion from previous match, played a lovely cameo (17 off 10) but it was Thisara Perera who made light work of this chase.

He smashed the spinners first and the seamers later on his way to 64* off 27 deliveries. For the Mumbai Champions, this total was never going to be enough and they were very one-dimensional in their plans and bowling methods going for the first 10 overs with spin. Vishvajithsinh Solanki got 2 wickets and even though they got a few wickets towards the end, it was a case of not having enough runs on the board.

When they batted first in the afternoon, most of their batters were guilty of getting out while playing some poor shots. Only Abhishek Jhunjhunwala (38) and Peter Trego (27) looked good in the middle in addition to the an 8th wicket partnership of 34 between Amit Sanan and Vinay Yadav which enabled them to get to this score. The Delhi bowlers, specially their spinners were brilliant and kept a strangle hold on the innings throughout. Ashley Nurse scalped 3 important wickets in the powerplay whereas Vikrant Sharma got 3 equally important ones in the middle phase.
