A phenomenal construction of a run chase by Chanjal Sudarsanan. He didn't start quickly enough off the blocks, but once he picked up pace, there was simply no stopping him. And in their chase of 93, the Royal Strikers would have known that as long as Sudarsanan was out there, this game was theirs to lose.

The powerplay was a steady one, although Chamkaur Singh couldn't capitalize on a dropped chance. Skipper Priyan Pushparajan then joined Sudarsanan and the duo went about their business in steady fashion, not allowing the asking rate to escalate to insurmountable proportions. With wickets in hand, the Strikers were always on course to chase it down.

Pushparajan's wicket threw a spanner into their works, although Sudarsanan batted like a man possessed. The eight over brought a new twist into the contest with Fanyan Mughal striking a crucial double-whammy. Despite running out of partners and with 25 runs needed off the last two overs, Sudarsanan managed to hold his nerve to get the job done. It wouldn't have been possible without Manuel Augustine's invaluable cameo, as he belted a four and a six to make the former's life easy.

In the end, the Royal Strikers have pocketed their third win of the season and are getting into a nice little juggernaut. Marsa remain winless, and will have to pull things back in the second leg of this bout starting in a little while from now.

Sudarsanan seals it in style! Such a fitting end and the chief orchestrator of the chase has managed to finish it in grand fashion. Royal Strikers win by 5 wickets with 2 deliveries to spare!
