With this SAL make it through to the finals day and they will be facing PKC in the second semi-finals. Who will come out on top and emerge as the champions of ECS Vienna? It shall all unfold tomorrow at the Finals Day Saturday.
Zeeshan's demise brought on another hitter Muhammad Shahbaz who continued to display fine batting and scored a 20 as well from just 8 balls and remained not out. It looked like SAL might be able to pull off the fastest ECS chase in the history but it wasn't to be soo as they took 4 balls more to beat the record.
Coming into chase just 57 runs, Zeeshan and Bilal came out to open the batting for SAL. They did not waste much time and started to find the boundary ropes straight away. Zeeshan's innings did not last long but he did the damage at the top as he scored 20 runs facing just 9 balls.
So this has been quite a quick end to the third preliminary final 3 which looked very promising but a one-sided contest in the end. CRC were slowed by SAL bowlers with the bat. Just at it looked like they were getting on track, CRC had a horrible collapse as they lost 8 wickets for just 7 runs.
It was just a matter of moments before SAL won this game unless they had a horrendous collapse themselves. There were sad faces in CRC dugout and reasonably so, no one was able to provide them hope and it was just looking like a formality from the moment they came on to bowl.
4.1 Usman Gol to Muhammad Shahbaz, FOUR! GAME, SET, MATCH! overpitched ball drifting down the legside. Shahabaz, who is already deep in the crease, waits for the ball to come to him and off his toes flicks it powerfully to the vacant sweeper midwicket region for a boundary to kill the chase with 35 balls to spare!
4.1 Usman Gol to Muhammad Shahbaz, fuller length ball bowled wide outside off the tramlines. WIDE signalled by the umpire
Usman Gol will bowl the 5th over
Just 3 runs needed from here for SAL to march on to the finals day Saturday! The following over surely has to be the final over for the day as the target looks in grasps now for SAL
