From the moment they won the toss and opted to bat first, there was simply nothing that Alby Zalmi could do wrong. Their batters blazed away at will, their bowlers landed the ball in the right areas and their fielders held onto their catches. Once skipper Azam Khalil's unbeaten 82 powered them to a gargantuan total of 200, it was always going to be a huge mountain to climb for SIKIF.

The chase began in the worst possible fashion as Kamran Rashid nipped both openers in the bud in the very first over. Despite the odd boundary coming along thereafter, wickets fell at regular intervals with the asking rate always rising with each passing over. So much so that it crossed the 25-run mark by the end of the three-over powerplay, leaving SIKIF needing a miracle of some kind to even get close to the target.

Whatever followed thereafter was a case of just going through the motions. Raja Selvaraj top-scored with 21 but truth be told, they needed a couple of knocks like what Azam produced for his side. It wasn't to be, however, and the one thing SIKIF managed eventually was avoid being bundled out. They played out their quota of 10 overs but have slumped to a thumping defeat which reflects in the fact that they only just managed to eclipse Azam's own individual score by a mere run.

This result means that Alby Zalmi remain unbeaten in the competition and continue to show just why they are an incredible force to reckon with. As for SIKIF, a defeat of this kind is bound to sap some confidence off them but they have to put it aside and move forward, even as they remain languishing in the lower trenches of the table.

They've avoided being bowled out, but SIKIF have simply been lackadaisical today. A game that saw just one team turn up and dominate from start to finish as Alby Zalmi romp home by 117 runs!
