Spain beat France by 3 wickets!
Muhammad Babar 54 (18) | William Singh 3-29 Zain Ahmad 44 (19) | Noman Amjad 2-37
At one stage, it seemed as if France had managed to pull the game from under Spain. They picked up a flurry of wickets and this set Spain back a tad.
However, the duo of Awais Ahmed and Robiul Khan got together and ensured that their team got over the line and qualified for the final of the tournament, supposed to be played later on in the day.
Ibrahim Jabarkhel was the unfortunate bowler against whom the fireworks were launched but one needs to give immense credit to wicket-keeper batter Awais Ahmed for making sure that Spain did not face any major hiccups at all.
France will now play the second qualifier of this tournament against Greece in order to decide who qualifies for the final match to be played against Spain.
8.5 Ibrahim Jabarkhel to Awais Ahmed, SIX! SPAIN ARE THROUGH TO THE FINALS! Pitched up outside off, Awais goes down to one knee and sweeps this hard. Gets this over cow corner to finish things emphatically
8.4 Ibrahim Jabarkhel to Awais Ahmed, DROPPED! Pitched up, Awais slog sweeps and gets a top-edge. The fielder at deep square leg circles around it and didn't grab it
8.3 Ibrahim Jabarkhel to Awais Ahmed, SIX! Spears this fuller and it ends up in the hitting zone. Awais shuffles across and slog sweeps it over deep mid-wicket for a maximum
8.2 Ibrahim Jabarkhel to Awais Ahmed, FOUR! Short and wide of off-stump, Awais chops it hard and gets this to the left of deep cover for a boundary
8.1 Ibrahim Jabarkhel to Awais Ahmed, SIX! Pitched up delivery ended up in the slot outside off, Awais slams the slog sweep over deep mid-wicket for a maximum
Spain need 24 runs off 12 balls. It is doable for sure, but France keep posing challenges that might set them back a tad. Ahmed and Robiul need to keep their nerves.
