In the end, a pretty comfortable victory for Namibia who are building up for the ICC T20 World Cup First Round. 17-run victory to kick off the UAE Summer T20 Bash.
Namibia set-up a competitive 159-8 after being asked to bat first. Defending that score, the Namibian seamers bowled very economically in the Powerplay while David Wiese also got the scalp of Chirag Suri. The run-rate continued to be moderate with CP Rizwan also departing in the ninth over to become Jan Frylinck's first victim.
Waseem accelerated to an extent with some big hits but he edged a slower delivery from Frylinck to the keeper as UAE lost their third wicket. Basil Hameed came in and showed a lot of intent but he had to go back after David Wiese pulled off a stunning catch at mid-off. Rohan Mustafa didn't last long too as he holed out to deep mid-wicket as Frylinck got his fourth wicket.
The equation became increasingly difficult even though Kashif Daud got a couple of boundaries to kick off his knock. The burly Ruben Trumpelmann was brought back into the attack and he didn't take long to dismiss Daud. Mohammad Usman also got out in the same 18th over as Ruben got another scalp.
In the final over, Frylinck wrapped up his five-wicket haul by castling Vriitya Aravind before Sultan Ahmed became his sixth victim. In the end, UAE could only muster 142-9 as they fell short by 17 runs.
