That's all from us then! We hope you enjoyed our coverage of this ODI game between UAE and Nepal! This is Soumarya Dutta signing off on behalf of my partner Bidipto Datta. See you soon !
Bhim Sharki has been adjudged the Player of the Match! Here is what he has to say.
Bhim Sharki: The idea was to stay there and look to play out the full 50 overs. I did that and got good support from three other batters. My game-plan is to bat according to the situation of the innings and keep the scoreboard ticking over. I stick to that and it works most of the time.
Rohit Paudel (Nepal captain): I think we have punched above our weight in this leg of the tournament! We have gelled really well as a team and the coaching staff has also helped in keeping the team focused and calm. All of that has rubbed off on the kind of performances that we have put up so far. We play at home next, so, it should be great to win in front of our home fans for sure!
Muhammad Waseem (UAE captain): I think we should have restricted them to 20-25 runs less. If you look at the way they fielded, they managed to save 20-25 runs themselves! So that made the difference. Well this game is all about winning the important moments. We will try to win those important moments in the coming games, especially with the bat. Our bowling has been impressive for quite some time now.
It is time for the post-match presentation!
UAE 187 all out in 45 overs Asif Khan 82(115) | Sompal kami 3/26 Aryan Lakra 50(78) | Deependra Airee 3/18
What an unbelievable thriller of a game we have witnessed here and Nepal have pulled this game from the jaws of defeat and have won it comfortably in the end by 43 runs. UAE made a good start to the run chase as Aryan Lakra and Asif Khan put on a 94 run second wicket partnership. They put UAE firmly in the drivers seat, however once Aryan was gone, Nepal came back into the game and kept getting wickets at regular intervals. Asif khan kept fighting at an end but he ran out of partners at the other end. Eventually he perished in the quest of runs against Dipendra AIree and from their the rest of the lower order capitulated under pressure.
The Nepalese bowlers had a great start as Sompal Kami struck in the first over of the match. UAE did get a good second wicket partnership but they were always in the hunt as they kept things tight. Sompal Kami, and Deependra Airee were the stars of the show with the ball. Kami got skipper Rizwan and Rohan Mustafa in his second spell and laid the foundation for Nepal's comeback in the contest. Airee backed him up brilliantly as he cleaned up the dangerous Asif Khan and Meiyappan in one over. From there it was only going to be a formality and Lamichhane came in and took the final wicket of the last ball of his spell.
Overall this has been a fantastic win for Nepal and they can be mighty proud of their efforts . They have been outstanding in this tri series so far and with this win, they're in contention now to gain direct qualification into the ODI World Cup qualifier to be held in Zimbabwe in June this year. UAE were good with the ball, but they will have to introspect as most of their batters threw their wickets away at key stages and failed to stitch together partnerships that hurt them in the end.

44.6 Sandeep Lamichhane to Zahoor Khan, AND THAT WILL BE THAT! BOWLED HIM! Full and straight on middle. Zahoor tries to hack it across the line on one knee. He misses it completely and gets cleaned up in the process to hand Nepal a brilliant victory by 42 runs!
Zahoor Khan b Sandeep Lamichhane 7(11b 1x4 0x6)
44.5 Sandeep Lamichhane to Junaid Siddique, good length flatter ball on middle. Tapped around to fine-leg from the crease for a single.
44.4 Sandeep Lamichhane to Junaid Siddique, good length ball on off. A nudge down to the silly point region from the crease, no run.
44.3 Sandeep Lamichhane to Zahoor Khan, good length ball down leg. A leg-bye here to short square-leg after the batter misses the clip to mid-wicket.
44.2 Sandeep Lamichhane to Zahoor Khan, good length ball on off. Defended down to the bowler from the crease for no run.
44.1 Sandeep Lamichhane to Zahoor Khan, BOUNDARY! Over the wicket, good length ball on middle-and-off. A slog-sweep this time towards deep mid-wicket and a misjudgement from the fielder in the deep gives away four runs!
Sandeep Lamichhane [9.0-0-47-0] comes back into the attack.
The singles and twos won't bother Nepal at this stage as the run rate has been climbing up in the last few overs. It's too much of a task for number 10 and 11 at the moment.
