Brandon King has been awarded the man of the match for his knock of 112(112). He was cramping towards the end of the innings and wasn't present to take the award. Shai Hope collects it on his behalf.

Shai Hope, West Indies captain: The bowlers bowled well, we stuck to our plans and yielded the results. The pitch was a bit on the tougher side, there were no demons in the pitch and our bowlers did really well to pick up wickets. He (King) batted really well. He is an exceptional player and saw it as an opportunity to play for the side and score his first hundred.

Muhammad Waseem, UAE captain: Ali played very well, but we were short by 50-60 runs. He's a very good talent. Ayaan bowled very well, but we were looking for some wickets. King played really well. We will take some positive points from today, and will look to play well in the upcoming matches. I'll try my best to score some runs next time.

What a comprehensive win for the visitors who have come out with a clear intent to get the job done in the World Cup Qualifiers. This a small step towards a bigger goal of achieving qualification for the World Cup that will be later played this year in India.

West Indies started off in a canter as Johnson Charles scored boundaries at will, in particular taking a liking to Ali Naseer, who was making his debut. The UAE captain then handed the ball to Zahoor, who delivered as usual and picked up the wicket of the dangerous looking Charles.

Brandon King was then joined by Shamarh Brooks and the pair batted really well for the second wicket. They had a couple of quiet overs before King reached his 50 and began changing gears swiftly. Brooks lost his wicket, but King was undettered as he scored his maiden ODI 100. He lost his wicket in a bid to end the chase, but it was Hope who sealed the deal with back to back maximums and helped the touring party pick up a 1-0 lead.

UAE bowlers did everything they could but couldn't defend their paltry total of 202 runs. Ayaan Khan, Rohan Mustafa and Zahoor Khan took the three wickets to falls. The Windies batters took a liking in particular to Ali Naseer and Karthik Meiyappan, both having a terrible day with the ball. Sanchit Sharma might come back in the XI and replace either one of the two players.
