Budapest Blinders 107/6 (10) lose to United Csalad Budapest by 29 runs

Mark Des Fontaine 3-15(2) | Ajith Sreedharakurup 1-19(2)

United Csalad Budapest are through to the Final!
It has been a terrific performance from them and they truly deserve to advance into the final, where they will face the Royal Tigers and will have the opportunity of clinching the title. A complete all-round show from the UCB outfit and perhaps it was not the best of outings for the Blinders, who fail to make it to the final in two attempts. The innings started on a sour note for the Blinders, losing three wickets inside two overs. After the initial setback, Maaz Bhaiji joined hands with Amjad Aziz and tried to breath some momentum into what was a slow-trudging score. While the former took on the bowlers, the latter was unable to find his footing in the contest and his initial failure to score runs at a quick pace put pressure on Maaz, who perished while trying to increase the scoring rate. After that, there wasn't much life left in the contest as they Blinders could manage only 107 runs and bow out of the tournament.

9.6 Mark Des Fontaine to Ali Yalmaz, back of a length on middle stump, pulled to deep mid-wicket for a single. That will be that. United Csalad are into the finals!
9.5 Mark Des Fontaine to Steffan Gooch, full and outside the off-stump, Gooch steps out to drive it to sweeper cover for a single
9.4 Mark Des Fontaine to Amjad Aziz, CAUGHT! DES FONTAINE HAS THREE! Full and on the off-stump line, Aziz can't get underneath that one as well as he'd like and gifts a comfortably catch to Aziz at long-off.
9.3 Mark Des Fontaine to Ali Yalmaz, fullish angled into Yalmaz, flicks it to deep mid-wicket for another single
9.2 Mark Des Fontaine to Amjad Aziz, on length outside the off-stump, Aziz scoops it towards cover but the fielder misjudged that one. Should have been a catch but he was caught napping
9.1 Mark Des Fontaine to Ali Yalmaz, good length outside the off-stump, Yalmaz throws his bat at it to skew a thick outside edge for a single at third man
Mark Des Fontaine [1-0-10-2] is back into the attack. Can he pick up a three-fer or perhaps even a five-fer? Certainly capable of doing so and with the batters swinging for the fence, he might just fetch a few wickets here. Meanwhile, the Blinders will bow out of the tournament and they fail to make it to the finals despite finishing second. Not been the ideal Playoffs Saturday for them by any means.

Budapest Blinders need 35 runs 6 balls. Need a Tewatia here. Even more I'd reckon!

8.6 Amit Parihar to Amjad Aziz, SIX! OH, IT'S A MONSTER! Slot ball outside the off-stump, Aziz plants his front foot and smokes this over the long-off boundary. What a hit!
8.5 Amit Parihar to Amjad Aziz, nails the full and wide yorker outside off, another precious dot ball!
8.4 Amit Parihar to Amjad Aziz, SWING AND A MISS! On length outside off, Aziz swings for the fences but gets nowhere near bat on ball.
8.3 Amit Parihar to Ali Yalmaz, on length outside the off-stump, Yalmaz rocks back to drive this down to long-on for another single
8.2 Amit Parihar to Amjad Aziz, back of a length angled into, hacks his pull to short fine leg for a single
8.1 Amit Parihar to Amjad Aziz, FOUR! MISFIELD! Full and outside the off-stump, carved out to deep point but the fielder's made an absolute hash of that one, gifting four runs to Aziz and his side
Amit Parihar [1-0-7-0] is back into the attack
Budapest Blinders need 47 runs in 2 overs

Surely mere formalities remain now. Despite Aziz being well-set at the crease, he has time and again failed to connect with the big shots. With Mark Des Fontaine and Amit Parihar expected to return to bowl the final two, this game is all but done.
