Scorecard
Bangladesh Austria falling short by 10 runs in the end and that will see their exit from the tournament as this was a must-win game for them to keep their hopes alive. 109 is what they needed to get and they could only manage 98/8 in the end, losing two wickets in that final over where they needed 13 for a win. Vienna on the other hand, having successfully defended their total, move to the next stage with this win. A pleasing effort from them to come out and defend the total.

Bangladesh started slow but picked up nicely in that final powerplay over and it seemed like they would get themselves going. However, they kept losing wickets regularly throughout the chase which never allowed them to gain complete control at any stage. Hassan Ashfaq gave the start with his 34 at the top but they crumbled after that as no other batsmen could contribute a lot. It was Iqbal Singh fighting a lone battle with his 20-ball 41 but he needed some support from the other end which could have made the difference. Disappointing end for Bangladesh as they are the first team to be knocked out with this loss.

Mark Simpson-Parker was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 2/9 from this 2 overs, keeping it tidy and getting crucial wickets as well.All-round show from him with both bat and ball and in the field as well as he was everywhere in the action. Couple of wickets each for Lakmal and Abdullah as well in what was a team effort with the ball that helped Vienna successfully defend their score and thus make it to the further stage of the tournament!
What a match-winning over this has been from Abdullah and Vienna have wrapped this up in the final over. They are through to the next stage with this and that will be curtains for Bangladesh Austria as they become the first team to exit from the tournament!
