What an exhilarating game we've witnessed today! Thanks for joining us. This is Meeth Agrawal signing off, alongside my co-commentator Bidipto Datta. We'll see you all on the 17th for the second T20I.

Litton Das (Bangladesh captain): We have played here before. When I saw the wicket first, it didn't behave like before. It seemed a good batting wicket. But when we batted, 150-160 looked like a good score. I just backed my bowlers to defend the total. I want my players to have the identity of playing aggressive cricket. We are playing good cricket at the moment. It has been a really long tour and winning today was a big boost for everyone. We need another win and we have to play well to win it.

Rovman Powell (West Indies captain): I think it's a matter of us assessing a bit earlier. We lost wickets in a cluster today. I am just trying to be consistent and take the responsibility to lead from the front. Death bowling has always been a struggle for us but our batters let us down today. (On Romario Shepherd coming down to bat) We wanted to have a left-right combination against the leg spinner. Hopefully, Shepherd will get more opportunity in future to bat. We will need to sit and have honest conversations as we have seemed to lost our way in T20 cricket a little bit.

Mahedi Hasan (Player of the Match, 26* off 24 balls and 4/13 in 4 overs): I am happy that we have been able to win today! The batting came in handy and the bowling too worked. I enjoyed bowling on this surface. There was a bit in it for the spinners.

What a win for Bangladesh! They’ve pulled off a victory for the ages, breaking their six-match losing streak in T20Is. Defending 20 off the last 18 balls was no easy feat, but the Bangladesh pacers kept their cool when it mattered most.

Rovman Powell, though, deserves a special mention. What an effort from the West Indies skipper! He single-handedly brought his team back into the game with a sensational display of power hitting. From nowhere, he almost turned the tide in favor of the Windies. But in the end, it was Bangladesh's discipline and the bowlers' ability to execute under pressure that proved decisive.

While their total of 147 initially seemed below par, Soumya Sarkar’s gritty 43 and late flurries from Shamim Hossain and Mahedi Hasan gave them something to bowl at. And when the West Indies came to bat, it seemed like it was all going according to plan for Bangladesh, as Mahedi Hasan ripped through the West Indies top order, finishing with career best figures of 4/13.

At 61/7, the Windies were on the brink of collapse. But never count out the captain, Rovman Powell. He staged a stunning recovery alongside Romario Shepherd, adding a vital 67-run partnership for the 8th wicket. Powell, with his powerful hitting, almost turned the tide in the Windies' favor, but Taskin Ahmed’s timely breakthrough in the 18th over was a game-changer. From there, Hasan Mahmud kept his cool in the final over, defending 10 runs to seal a famous win for Bangladesh.
