Commentary

What a game of cricket it turned out to be in the end, Aqeel Mirza stole the show with 92 off just 33 deliveries and one of those finals we dream of watching it over and over again. Zagreb Sokol thrilled to be the one lifting the trophy in the end, they richly deserved it with the way they played throughout the tournament. A week full of T10 entertainment comes to an end in Croatia, we now move to Greece from Monday, so do catch all the action on the 18th Oct.

Zagreb Sokol are the CHAMPIONS OF ECS CROATIA 2021!

What a game of cricket we just witnessed, this was the worthy of a final and we were treated with some exhilarating entertainment through out which turned out to be a thriller in the end. Zagreb Sokol had just enough in the bank to win this one and they would think that they got out of the jail.

The turning point of the contest was definitely that run-out of Aqeel Mirza, Shaikat manages to get his foot on the way and then that goes on to crash the stumps, it was right there Sokol were right back into the contest.

Zagreb Sokol were clueless up and until that dismissal but they were hapless and had no clue about what was going on. Aqeel Mirza played one of the blinder of an innings in the finals and just get a feeling that he got robbed in the end of that credit.

Ljubljana proved everyone wrong in the tournament, they were underdogs to start with but some phenomenal game of cricket throughout sees them through to the finals and they were up against Zagreb Sokol who had only one loss. Zagreb Sokol posted a mammoth total.

Ljubljana started off in a blistering fashion. Aqeel Mirza kept clobbering the boundaries for them and he kept them in the hunt throughout, Ayush Pandey at the other end whenever he got the opportunity made it count. Ljubljana crossed the 100 run mark in the seventh over.

Peter Amaan's over probably changed things up for them, he gets the breakthrough in the form Ayush Pandey and then Shaikat's effort to dismiss Aqeel Mirza proves to be one of the luckiest things you ever going to witness in the game of cricket.

Daniel Lazarides is thrilled that they manage to dismiss the dangerous Mirza at the end but it was too many to do in the last over but Arshad hit one out of the park and they needed 7 off 1 delivery and he just couldn't make a good connection in the end.

Zagreb Sokol are delighted but take no credit out of Ljubljana, they have played one heck of a cricket in this week and they deserve every bit of accolades there is.

So close yet to so far but spare a thought for Aqeel Mirza, his inning just turned the game on it's head for Ljubljana, gave the hope and to come so close and to lose this is agony for them.

9.6 Peter Amaan to Shahid Arshad, AMAAN DOES IT! He defends successfully! Back of a length delivery well outside off, Arshad backs away for a slash over wide mid-off as the lack of timing takes it only as far as the fielder in the deep. Amaan lets out a huge roar and celebrates in some fashion! Zagreb Sokol beat Ljubljana by 5 runs to clinch the ECS T10 Croatia title for 2021!

9.4 Peter Amaan to Shahid Arshad, INSIDE EDGE! It's all happening out there! Length delivery around off, Arshad brings out a slog across the line only for the ball to take the inside edge through to deep fine leg who sweeps to his right to keep it down to a single.

9.3 Peter Amaan to Shahid Arshad, RUN OUT CHANCE GONE MISSED! Good length delivery at the stumps, Arshad clogs it across the line towards deep mid-wicket and they hare back. Nilesh is miles short of his ground but the bowler is not backing up near the stumps as his errant throw saves Nilesh!

9.2 Peter Amaan to Shahid Arshad, SIX! INCREDIBLE HIT! MASSIVE! Right in the slot on middle and off, Arshad hangs back and sits on one knee to slog it a country mile over mid-wicket as the ball travels wayyy over the fence!

9.1 Peter Amaan to Nilesh Ujawe, THEY CROSS OVER! Full and angled into the batter outside the leg-stump, Nilesh fails to get bat on ball before the keeper fumbles and Arshad pulls his partner through for a bye.

Peter Amaan to bowl the final over! All he's got to do is bowl 6 good balls and Sokol win the trophy!

UNBELIEVABLE! That's probably the game for Zagreb Sokol, would you believe it? Shaikat gets his foot in the way and Mirza is long way across the strip and they are elated! That's the only way probably they would've got Mirza out, it was that good of an innings from him!
