Player of the match: Sikandar Raza
Right then. Zimbabwe take a one-nil lead in this three-match series with a scintillating win to kick the series off. Plenty of injuries today on the field for both sides. Let's hope that all the players are alright! That's all we have from this contest then. The second ODI comes around with a short turnaround, with the second game on Sunday. We'll see you then! For now, this is Pratyush Rohra signing off on behalf of my partner, Pradeep Somashekhar. Bye bye!
Regis Chakabva (Zimbabwe captain): It's really good to get the first win like that. All credit to Raza and Innocent. The way they went about after we lost a few wickets, couldn't have asked for anything better. We did very well in the first 20 overs (with the ball). We didn't get any wickets but we didn't let them get away with it either. They were 20-30 short, so we were pretty happy at the halfway stage. We spoke about how someone needed to bat long and get a hundred. With two guys getting to a hundred, can't ask for anything better. (Areas to improve) Probably could have started better with the bat but no complaints after a game like that.
Sikandar Raza has been adjudged the Player of the Match for his terrific innings to steer his team over the line!

Sikandar Raza:
I thought Innocent was brilliant, we needed the partnership when you are chasing a target of over 300. I think all of us done that, Sean Williams, Craig's done that and Regi as well, all the senior boys have done that and be the example, have a culture, the youngsters come and flourish. At one point I thought, we were behind in the game but we backed ourselves, I was telling Innocent to calm down and play his natural game.
Tamim Iqbal (Captain, Bangladesh): Absolutely not, I thought we could've got 15-20 runs more runs. It was expected, the first 10 overs to be really watchful, after that the wicket got really good and we just saw that. We have been sloppy in the field from sometime, it costed us the game today.

This is a day Zimbabwe cricket fans won't forget anytime soon. After clinching the T20I series, they've laid down the marker for this ODI series with a memorable win. With over 300 to chase, not many would have fancied them to chase this down, but they've done it in style.

They did so after getting off to the worst possible start, losing both their openers in the first two overs. At 6-2, it seemed like Bangladesh were going to run away with this contest but Kaia and Madhevere did well to weather the storm and build some sort of recovery to steady the ship.

Madhevere opened the door for Bangladesh again with what was an avoidable runout but that was about the only sniff the visitors got from there on. Raza came in and batted with freshing intent, carrying on his purple patch alongside Kaia. With a perfect mix of touch and aggression, Kaia and Raza built a record-breaking 192-run stand to blow Bangladesh away.

Not to say it was a flawless partnership though. Tamim's side had their chances but a few dropped catches and some horrid fielding meant that they could never really take their chances in this game and only have themselves to blame for that.

Kaia was the glue to the innings as he notched up his maiden ODI century but couldn't hand around to finish the job. Raza made sure he doesn't make the same mistake though. With his 4th ODI century, he ensured he sees his side to the finish line, aided by a handy cameo from Luke Jongwe.

This is the fourth time Zimbabwe have chased down a total of 300+ runs in their history. Massive result for the hosts, who go one-nil up in the three-match ODI series. Stick around for the presentations!
"Come onnnnnnnn!", roars Sikandar Raza as he finishes things off in style. Look what it means to him! He rises in unison with the crowd to celebrate this sensational win for his side. The party will go long into the night, you bet! Zimbabwe win by 5 wickets and take a 1-0 lead in the ODI series.
48.2 Mosaddek Hossain to Sikandar Raza, SIX! GAME, SET AND MATCH! RAZA YOU BEAUTY! Drops it short, Raza latches on to it as he sits deep inside the crease and SMOKES it over deep square-leg fence for a maximum. Raza lets out the roar as he finished things in style and Zimbabwe go 1-0 up as they thump Bangladesh in the first ODI!
48.1 Mosaddek Hossain to Sikandar Raza, fires the full delivery on the stumps, Raza on the backfoot drilled it straight back to the bowler.

One boundary. That's all Zimbabwe need now. Can Raza finish it off in style?

47.4 Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Sikandar Raza, drops it short, gets big on Raza but he plays this well, opens the blade and eases it past backward point for a brace. Just 4 needed now!
47.3 Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Milton Shumba, good length that drifts into Shumba on the leg-stump, nudged it to square-leg for one more.
47.2 Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Sikandar Raza, fires a full delivery on the pads, Raza on the backfoot whips it behind square on the on-side for one.
Milton Shumba, LHB, comes to the crease. He'll be on the non-striker's end.
Job done, as far as Luke Jongwe is concerned. He had a chance to finish this off in style but he's picked out the man in the deep. Bangladesh finally hold onto a catch but it's a little too late now.
47.1 Mehidy Hasan Miraz to Luke Jongwe, OUT! GOES MILES UP IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! Full toss from around the wicket, Jongwe could've hit that one anywhere on the ground but he's skied it around deep backward square-leg, Afif near the ropes takes a tumbling catch.
