Lautaro Martínez has scored five goals in his last five games with Argentina (he only failed to score against Ecuador in that period). This phase put an end to a streak of 16 games without him scoring for his national team.

Argentina is looking to win all of its games in a CONMEBOL Copa América group stage for the third time this century. La Albiceleste was runner-up on the two previous occasions in which they won all their matches in the initial phase (2007 and 2016).

Argentina beat Peru without conceding a goal in their last two CONMEBOL Copa América clashes (1-0 in 2004, 4-0 in 2007).
