Argentina will face Australia in the round of 16 while Poland will face France in the next round. Both these matches will take place on 4th December.

The match between Saudi Arabia and Mexico has ended 1-2 as Poland are confirmed a spot in the round of 16. Nail-biting end to the Group C third-round matches. So Argentina finish on top of Group C while Poland just manage to qualify for the next round.

Poland never looked threatening as they failed to have a single shot on target tonight. Lucky for them that Argentina managed to score only two past them.

Like the first half, it was all Argentina in the second half but with more intensity and quality in the final third. Mac Allister gave the break after just 68 seconds after the restart. Julian Alvarez double the lead with a lovely finish to ensure Argentina's place in the knockout stages.

90+6' FULL TIME!! Poland lose 2-0 to Argentina as the latter are confirmed for a place in the next round.

90+2' CLEARED OFF THE LINE!! Tagliafico has a wonderful chance to score the third goal as Szczesny comes rushing to win the ball. The Argentine left-back chips it beating the goalkeeper but is cleared off the line by Glik.

With no goals between Saudi Arabia and Mexico, both Poland and Argentina look bound to reach the knockouts as it stands. But a single goal anywhere can drastically change the dynamics in Group C tonight. Argentina have shown the intent to attack but will need to show a bit more quality upfront. Poland can try and soak all the pressure but feel it wouldn't last much given their talented opposition.

It has all been Argentina in the first half as Poland have defended deep and struggled in possession. The South American team had a number of chances to get the opener but Wojciech Szczesny has been his country's savior once again tonight. He denied Lionel Messi from the spot after Argentina looked to have been awarded a soft penalty.

40' The save was probably justice for Poland as it looked like a very soft penalty decision from the referee even after consultation with VAR.

39' MISSSSSS!!!! Szczesny makes a stunning dive to his left to deny Messi a penalty goal and Argentina the chance to lead. Tremendous from the former Arsenal goalkeeper.

33' Di Maria takes an inswinging cross from the right and it almost catches Szczesny napping. The ball was heading into the goal, only for the Polish goalkeeper to make a last moment save.
