Asian Games 2018: Archery, Day 7: India knocked out of Men's & Women's Team Recurve in the quarter-final

With no archers in the individual and mixed team events in Recurve and Compound, India's hopes of a medal in Archery look bleak. Now India's only hopes of a medal from Archery rest in the Men's and Women's Team Compound event, which takes place on Sunday (August 26). While the Men are in the round of 16, the women are already through to the quarter-final. Join us again for that, until then, goodbye.

India's hopes of a medal from the Men's and Women's Team Recurve events has ended as India crash out in the quarter-final of both events. That also means that the Indian Recurve contingent finish medal-less.

South Korea beat India 5-1 and advance through to the semi-final of the Recurve Men's Team.

South Korea take the third set 56-54 despite an eight off the last set and seal the game.

And South Korea start off with a 10. That was on the line but the next one was a perfect 10. Just seven needed off the last shot to seal a win.

South Korea just need 27 to seal the third set.

And Atanu just misses it. He finishes with nine and India have 54.

Jagdish starts with a 10 and Viswash follows that with one more. India need a perfect finish here from Atanu.

Despite an eight, South Korea lead India 28-25 with three shots to go.

But someone seems to have forgotten to tell the South Koreans that as they hit two 10s in a row and are looking like they are in a hurry to get this done.

Courtesy of that wild shot, India finish with just 25 from the first three shoots. India must now hope South Korea are less than perfect.

Viswash goes way off target and he shoots a SIX. The lowest score so far.

Atanu Das starts the third set with a 10. That will do his confidence a world of good.

Atanu Das regains some confidence with a nine but India lose the second set 56-54 courtesy of a horrible shot from Atanu Das.

India get the first of them courtesy of Jagdish. But Viswash shoots a nine and India will now lose the second set.

South Korea finish with an impressive 56, which means India need three 10s to avoid losing the second set.

Viswash gets a bulls eye and India finish with 26 and South Korea lead by two with three shots to go in the second set.

Atanu Das goes first and he starts off with a seven. That was way off target from the seasoned campaigner.

South Korea start the second set with a nine before following that up with 10 and 9, South Korea have 28 after their first three shots.

That was a golden opportunity for India to go one set up and take a 2-0 lead but Atanu Das shot an eight with the final shot of the first set and now the scores are level.

India and South Korea are level 1-1 after the first set.

Atanu Das gets an eight. India throw it away and the first set finishes 54-54.

India start with an 8. Vishwas then produces a nine and India need a nine to win the first set.

South Korea finish with 10,9 and just 7. South Korea have 54.

Atanu Das begins with a nine but that was so close to being an eight. But Viswash starts off with a 10. And another 10 and India lead 29-28 with three shots to go.

Excellent start from South Korea, who begin with 28 from their first three shots.

It is South Korea who start first.

And we are about to get underway in the quarter-finals. Both India and South Korea are ready.

We are less than 10 minutes away from the start of the quarter-final between India and South Korea. The latter are the favorites but can the Indian men make up for a poor show from the women earlier?

The Indian trio have a tough task ahead of them as they try and beat the South Korean trio who set an Asian Games Qualification record in the ranking round. But Atanu Das, Viswash and Jagdish Choudhary will be hoping that they can upset the odds in the first quarter-final of the men's Team Recurve

India are now out of the Women's Team Recurve, which means that India's only hope of a medal from Archery on day seven rests on the shoulders of the men's trio who face South Korea in the quarter-final.

Chinese Taipei beat India 6-2 to advance to the semi-final of the Women's Team Recurve against China.

Chinese Taipei have the simple job to seal the win. They beat India 57-47 in the fourth set.

No? Worst shot of the quarter-final as Promila hits a 6. Deepika doesn't do much better and India are all but out.

Ankita starts off with a 10 and India desperately need two more of that in the last two shots. Will they get?

Deepika starts with an 8. Ankita follows that up with a nine. Promila finishes with a seven. India have just 24 after the first three shots.

India need to win the fourth set to stay alive in the quarter-final. Can they do it? It is India who start off the fourth set.

Chinese Taipei need 29 with their final three arrows to seal the match.

Ankita hits a 10 to start off and Promila follows that up with a nine. Deepika hits an 8. India finish with 54.

Deepika starts the third set with a nine. Ankita, the southpaw hits a nine as well. Promila finishes with another nine. India have 27 after three shots.

India are crumbling under pressure so far and they need to be perfect if they are to have any chance of getting back level and forcing a Shoot-Out.

Ankita hits a 10. Does she? It is on the line but it is a 10. But Promila crumbles under pressure and she hits a eight. So does Deepika. India manage just 51. And that should be curtains.

Chinese Taipei finish with 27 and they lead by two with three shots remaining.
