Things have been panning out in the right way for India as Day 7 at the Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games saw one gold and three bronze medals making it to India's bountiful bag. Tajinderpal Singh Toor came up with an Asian Games record throw of 20.75m in his fifth attempt in men's shot put Final to win the GOLD MEDAL. On the other hand, Dipika Pallikal, Joshana Chinappa, and Sourav Ghoshal brought home 3 bronze medals from squash. There was some other progress too as various athletes made it into the finals of their respective events. Dutee Chand, Hima Das, Muhammed Yahiya, Rajiv Arokia, Nirmla, Sreeshankar, and Chethan amongst those. As we cross over to the second half of the Asiad, things are looking good for India. India's challenge in the racket sport is over in all other categories besides Women's singles. While Kidambi Srikanth and HS Prannoy sufferred shocking defeats in the first round itself, the doubles pairs of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy; Manu Attri and B. Sumeeth Reddy fought well in the Men's Doubles Round of 16.  The Women's doubles pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Sikki Reddy also made it to the quarterfinals of the event to give a tough fight to give a tough fight to the third seeded Chinese pair. Ace Indian shuttler and former World Number 1, Saina Nehwal, will be up against Thailand's Ratchanok Intanon in the Quarterfinal. The two are no strangers to each other. The current world number 10, Saina has got the better off the 4rd seeded Ratchanok if we look at the head-to-head records. The Indian has won 10 and lost 5 of the 15 matches the two have played so far. Saina has won all 4 times in their last 4 meetings and this would give her confidence. It is surely going to be a cracker of a match. PV Sindhu, on the other hand, will be locking horns with Thailand's Nitchaon Jindapol in the other quarterfinal. Two thrilling encounter await us!
