Day five ended more with a whimper, rather than a bang. On what was a disappointing day for India, several participants lost their matches in the final stages. Racket sports saved India's blushes as there was progression in all of them.

Ankita Raina (WR 189) bagged a Bronze medal as she went down against Zhang Shuai (WR 34) in the semifinals. She fought valiantly against the Chinese Number but eventually lost 6-4, 7-6(6).

Day 6 started on a positive note as the Rowers made the nation proud! India's team of Sawarn Singh, Daatu Bhokanal, Daatu Bhokanal, and Sukhmeet Singh won GOLD Men's Quadruple Sculls. Dushyant also bagged a Bronze medal for India in Rowing -- Men's Lightweight Single Sculls. Another Bronze came as Rohit Kumar and Bhagwan Singh finished third in the Final of Men's Lightweight Double Sculls. The Men's Doubles pair of Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan have grabbed the GOLD medal Kazakhstan's Alexander Bublik & Denis Yevseyev 6-3, 6-4 in the Final. With these medals,  India's tally stands at  23, which now includes 6 GOLDS, 4 SILVERS, and 13 BRONZE.

The day of reckoning is upon us as the Indian Women's Kabaddi team is all set to battle it out for the gold medal in Jakarta against the team from the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Yesterday, the Indian men's team faced a shocking defeat at the hands of the Iranian men who put an end to India's gold medal winning streak since the 1990 Asian Games, the first time that the sport was introduced at the Asian Games stage.

The Indian Women's team faced the team from the Chinese Taipei in the semifinals encounter and triumphed with a 27-14 scoreline stamping their authority in the competition extending their unbeaten run. The Iranian women faced off against the team from Thailand and emerged victorious with a 23-16 scoreline setting up the gold medal clash with India.
