Hello and Welcome to Sportskeeeda's LIVE coverage of the Badminton World Championships 2018. Next up in Women's singles is: Saina Nehwal vs Aliye Demirbag
...
After Kidambi Srikanth eased his way into Round 2 earlier today, it is now the turn of 10th seed Saina Nehwal to prove her mettle in her first encounter at the BWF World Championships 2018.

The Jabalpur-born shuttler had received a Bye in Round 1 whereas her Turkish counterpart Aliye got a walkover against Sabrina Jaquet.

Saina, who is currently ranked 10th in the World with lock horns with Aliye Demirbag, who is ranked way below at 72. This should be more of a warm-up game for the ace Indian shuttler and Aliye does not pose much of a threat.

However, a stern test awaits Saina in Round 3 as the winner of this match will face Thailand's Ratchanok Intanon. The 4th seed has a decent record against Saina and she would certainly be wary of this as Ratchanok is in top notch form.

Saina comes into this event on the back of an early exit at the Indonesia Open. She will certainly be looking to make a mark at the big stage.
