Good morning and welcome to the Sportskeeda liveblog of Sameer Verma's match at the BWF World Tour Finals 2018. In his first match at the prestigious season-ender for which he has qualified for the first time in his career, Verma faces none other than the World No. 1 Kento Momota.

The two are tied 1-1 in their head-to-head record with Verma even winning their last encounter at the Swiss Open in February. However, a lot has changed in these intervening 10 months. The Japanese southpaw has gone on to dominate the BWF World Tour since then, winning as many as seven tournaments that includes the World Championships. It might be tough for Sameer now to find a way to break the Japanese's game but he would surely give quite a fight.

Stay tuned as we bring you live updates from this match.
