KKR Auction Summary: Going into the auction, KKR knew they need quality fast bowlers, death bowlers and some back-up at various departments. They knew what they wanted and they went all out for it and despite filling all the gaps, they still had plenty of cash to spare, which speaks of the strategy that they employed.
KKR captain Gautam Gambhir reveals why they didn't go for Ben Stokes. He admitted that it is difficult to replace Andre Russell and while he admitted Ben Stokes was an option, Gambhir felt he was too expensive and buying would reduce their chances of getting other players later in the auction.
KKR Auction so far: KKR needed death bowlers and they went big for Trent Boult and Chris Woakes, got them both and still have plenty of money left in the bank to fill other gaps in the squad.
KKR have been smart with their buys so far. They have issues in their squad and so far they have methodically solved it. Now they have gone for Rishi Dhawan for INR 55 lakh.
