Just as I say that Abhishek Tanwar hits a couple of sixes to keep things interesting. Madurai need much more than a couple of hits if they are to get over the line in this one.
OUT! Nilesh Subramanian goes for a big shot but he ends up getting an edge to first slip, who takes a simple catch. Nilesh Subramanian c Hari Nishaanth b M Abhinav 3(8)
OUT! Another excellent catch from R Vivek and that must be that for Madurai. But what a catch. WOW! He was running to his right near the ropes, did a bit of juggling and eventually held onto the ball with his left hand. J Kousik c R Vivek b Mohan Abhinav 7(6)
OUT! Karthikeyan goes for a big pull shot but gets nothing on it and the mid-wicket fielder takes a simple catch. Is that the end of the chase for Madurai or will Nilesh have anything to say about that? R Karthikeyan c Varun Totadri b Trilok Nag 19(16)
After playing out three successive dot balls, Karthikeyan picks up back-to-back boundaries but that is still not enough to keep up with the required run rate.
OUT! Shijit goes for the big one but ends up with a top edge and Jagadeesan completes the catch. Trilok Nag gets a wicket off his first ball. Shijit Chandran c N Jagadeesan b Trilok Nag 18(14)
Another excellent over from Mohammed, who concedes just four of this one and ends the power play with figures of 3/16 in 3 overs. That also brings to an end an eventful power play.
The hat-trick is averted but just two came off this over, along with two wickets. M Mohammed has changed the complexion of this game in the first spell itself.
OUT! two in two for Mohammed and Abhinav completes another catch. Thala tries to flick that but finds the only fielder in the deep on the leg side. Thalaivan Sargunam c Abhinav b Mohammed 8(9)
OUT! M Abhinav takes a stunner at deep square leg to get rid of the Madurai captain. That was always going away from the fielder, who ran to his right before taking a excellent diving catch. Rohit c Abhinav b Mohammed 10(10)
OUT! KB goes for another one but ends up giving a simple catch to the fielder at mid-off who hits the stumps and wants the run-out of Rohit as well. But just one wicket for Dindigul but that is the big wicket of KB. Arun Karthik c R Vivek b M Mohammed 11(4)
Arun Karthik gets his side off to the perfect start with a six off the first ball and then rotates the strike but Rohit plays out four dot balls to finish the over.
Dindigul Dragons were put into bat and took that as a challenge to put on a massive total for Madurai. On the back of fifties from Hari Nishaanth and R Vivek, Dindigul posted the highest TNPL total at the NPR College Ground and the highest of this year's TNPL as well. 203/6 was what they ended with thanks to a late cameo from Rohit, who pushed them past 200.
OUT! Excellent yorker from Sinivas who finishes with a wicket to get rid of Chaturved. Excellent over from Sinivas, who has been rewarded for his excellent variations. Chaturved NS b Jaganath Sinivas 0(1)
OUT! Anirudh Sita Ram's luck finally runs out as he finds R Karthikeyan at long off. Good catch this time as the fielder comes running in and completes the catch comfortably. Anirudh Sita Ram c R Karthikeyan b Jaganath Sinivas 22(15)
OUT! M Mohammed tries to go big but J Kousik moves swiftly to his left from deep mid-wicket and completes the catch. He made that look very easy. M Mohammed c J Kousik b Jaganath Sinivas 7(8)
OUT! Vivek goes for another but ends up miscuing that and it results in a simple catch for Madurai captain Rohit at short third man. R Vivek c Rohit b Abhishek Tanwar 54 (25)
FIFTY! Vivek gets there in style. A full toss outside off and Vivek clobbers that over a hapless long off fielder who just watches the ball sail over him.
Madurai's most economical bowler has been hit for nine in his penultimate over. The final ball gets a kick off the surface and Dindigul won't mind that at all.
SIX! Vivek welcomes CV Varun back into the attack with a massive hit straight over the bowler's head. What a shot! And the sixes keep on coming for Dindigul.
A six from Vivek over long on makes this an expensive over. J Kousik got rid of the Dindigul skipper and almost got Vivek as well but Karthikeyan couldn't hold on to a tough catch near the ropes.
OUT! Excellent yorker and Jagadeesan's middle stump goes for a walk. J Kousik strikes in his first over. That was a much-needed breakthrough for Madurai. N Jagadeesan b J Kousik 43(34)
Rahil Shah is doing everything he possibly can, from delivering a yorker and diving to his left to save a single to ensure that he doesn't leak runs and yet he concedes eight.
