A rather routine game was thrown wide open by Roncaglia's goal and his (and Bailly's) sending off - that last six minutes were some of the most nervous "squeaky bum" minutes this stadium has witnessed!

United have done their job, though, and are through to the EUROPA LEAGUE FINAL where they will face off against Ajax Amsterdam.

Fellaini then goes down under extreme pressure from Cabral... this has all the ingredients for an all out brawl again, but Cabral gets a yellow and decides not to push his league.

77' and he's already in the thick of the action! Bongonda breezes past Valencia and Bailly but Carrick has had his path charted out in that footballing supercomputer of a brain and he's there to stop the Belgian in his tracks.

76' The lively Bongonda tees up Sisto but his shot is well blocked by Herrera. Mourinho's seen enough and hooks the excellent Mkhitaryan to bring on Michael Carrick - he really wants to bring on a measure of control into the middle of the park

75' OH GUIDETTI! Hugo Mallo sends in a thoroughly brilliant ball that takes the United defence out of the equation - but Guidetti guides an unmarked header from five yards away - well wide. HOW DID HE MISS THAT!

74' Bongonda plays in Castro (of all the people) but the left back is shepherded away from danger by a trio of United defenders...

73' Daley Blind compounds his rather miserable night at the back by giving away an unnecessary corner. Jozabed's corner is a decent one, but Guidetti gives away a cheap freekick on Darmian

72' Mkhitaryan gets pulled up for pressing Hernandez with rather too much vigour. United, it has to be said, look comfortable here.

71' WOOF! JOZABED SENDS IN A HOWITZER FROM AROUND TWENTY-TWO YARDS OUT THAT FIZZES JUST WIDE OF ROMERO'S NEAR POST. That's as close as Celta have come all day

69' OOO FELLAINI! The big Belgian turns Mallo with unnatural grace before smashing a low heatseeker to the near post that Alvarez does well to turn around the woodwork. The corner comes to nothing as Lingard is pulled up for brushing an arm across the keeper - harmless, but a sure foul nonetheless.

67' Eduardo Berizzo heaves the kitchen sink on to his shoulders and hurls on Theo Bongonda in place of Nemanja Radoja. They have nothing to lose, after all.

65' Excellent defending from the ever-reliable Eric Bailly makes sure that Sisto and Guidetti's attempted one-two does not create any trouble for Romero. Aspas then goes down under pressure from Aspas but the ref asks him to dust off his backside and get on with it - his verbose disagreement then wins him a wholly unnecessary yellow

63' OOO MKHITARYAN! Further excellent dribbling from the Armenian pushes Celta backwards before Mallo and Hernandez combine to work it out. Herrera, though, wins the ball back and plays in Marcus Rashford WHO THEN PROCEEDS TO HIT HIS CHIP TOO CLOSE TO THE KEEPER! That was a chance, most definitely. It has to be noted the young man created that shooting chance with some sublime footwork that took past three Celta defenders.

62' Hernandez tries to find the omnipresent Mallo once again, but the ball's got too much oomph on it even for the Celta skipper

61' Oh excellent work from Pogba! He puts in a superb sliding tackle that ensures Sisto cannot get a shot away from the edge of the box before outmuscling Mallo to win a freekick and kill Celta's momentum dead. For the moment.

60' Radoja gives the ball away to Mkhitaryan who streams forward in that inimitable style of his. He then passes it on to Rashford, but the Englishman is contemptuously, and fairly, bullied off the ball.

58' AIY AIY GUIDETTI! Further excellent work from Mallo sees him skin Herrera and Darmian before sending in a ball that seeks out Guidetti. The big Swede has a touch to steady himself before proceeding to smash a very presentable opportunity well wide. That should really have been 1-1. The Galicians are going to rue all these missed chances if fortunes don't turn soon enough

56' Mkhitaryan's running has been pivotal to United releasing the pressure from time to time and once again it takes United further up the pitch. He moves it on to Lingard - whose fizzing delivery into the box finds that no United player has taken a Scholes-esque gamble to run into the box. *sigh*

55' Oooo Iago Aspas tries to catch Romero out from thirty odd yards but his shot is too tame, too straight. All it did, in fact, was that it ruined a perfectly good counter-attack and John Guidetti lets him know the truth of that.

53' Sisto tries to wriggle past Herrera, but the Basque is having absolutely none of it... Celta win the ball back though thanks to a lose Darmian pass... Mallo tries to swing one into the near post but it's too close to Romero

51' Celta move forward once again, but the red wall holds firm.... United are sitting deeper and deeper now and look to release Rashford on the break. This is Mourinho's dream come true isn't it?

49' OH MKHITARYAN!!!! Blind's ball pinballs around the area before bouncing out to the unmarked Armenian whose thunderbastard of a shot is well saved by Alvarez. A touch to either side, though, and the keeper would have had no chance

48' Rashford and Fellaini take turns in winning freekicks high up the pitch and United have a chance to force something here - Daley Blind stands over the ball...

47' Jozabed tries to make an early impact by attempting an eye-of-the-needle pass to Sisto, but it's hit with a touch too much oomph

46' OOOOO! HUGO MALLO ONCE AGAIN! The rampaging right back runs in behind Darmian and runs onto a superb Sisto dink - but his cross into the box is forced away spectacularly by Romero. United can't get the ball away though and Celta start their constriction of United once again.

United have not looked all that great. Celta have looked decent. United, though, have got the all - important opening goal and now lead the tie 2-0... Celta are going to need some better finishing if they are to make a fist of this semifinal.

40' Pione Sisto gets fed up with all this fancy passing around and cuts in from the left to have a pop at goal. It's straight at Romero, though. The winger then has another shot - but that one's zoned in on Row Z

39' Iago Aspas plays in Hugo Mallo - the Celta captain does ever so well to keep the ball in but his square into the box finds no one in particular. United try to break through Rashford but Cabral is simply too strong shoulder-to-shoulder.

37' Fellaini fancies himself quite a footballer after that goal. He runs onto a ball from Rashford and plays a fancy flick behind his legs. The only problem... there's no one there to receive it.
